While reading another post about aftermarket audio systems, someone mentioned there were differences between the 15-16 Boom Audio and the 17-18 Boom Audio systems. I have not heard or read anything about that and am wondering what the differences might be. Anyone familiar with any differences?

The 17/18 limited may have come with boom stage 1 stock. Other than that I can’t think of anything.

The 17 up has a anti-glare glass, much better than the old one. The color scheme's are easier to see. The touch screen is easier to use. All minor but much better than 15-16.

Buzzy,
I can't really tell if I notice any difference in the glare on the screen between my former 15 RGS and my present 17 RGS, when the sun is behind me. I still can't see the screen unless I shade the sun off the screen. As far as touch screen functions go, I wouldn't recognize differences since I rarely touch the screen. I've always used the handlebar joysticks to change functions.

When you have direct sun the new one glares too. The old one would glare at almost any angle. So the new one is much less. I'm thinking of trying to put some anti glare glass (museum glass) on my 15 RGS.

Several types of homemade shades have been designed by members here, but I don't recall anyone saying their design eliminated the glare totally. Shades will help depending on the angle of the sun behind you. if the sun angle is low the shades don't shield the bottom of the screen. Let us all know how the museum glass experiment works.
