We just got back from a week of riding the Tail of the Dragon and the Smokey Mountains. The bike handled great and we were able to dodge the rain almost completely. The riding is tremendous down there and if you haven't ever done it, you need too! We stayed in Robbinsville, NC just south of the Dragon and had a blast. We stayed at the Dragons Rest cabins south of town and it was very nice stay if you like rustic. The two wheel in right next door now has a restaurant called Moonshiners that had awesome food AND they serve alcohol!!!

Great trip! Did it in 2015. Have a pix in about the same spot. Hope you guys were able to make it to Wheels through Time in Maggie Valley.

Can't beat the Blue Ridge Parkway as well! There are many great roads out there.

We did Nashville for a few days and then the Jack Daniels tour on the way to the dragon. It was great!

Patriot - Where did you get the American flag on saddle bag? Is it painted on, or a stick on? I have been trying to find something to have put on the bike and I really like the Flag on the bag look. It is not screaming at you and has a classy look. Nice bike by the way.

Great pics! Love the painted flag on your saddle bags! Waving proud! That area is great riding and I am lucky to get down there about every other year. The riding in the Smokey Mountains is addictive!

Was just down there in early July!!! 2nd year in a row I’ve managed to make it down there. Non stop good time rain or or shine. Roads are great and the people whether locals or travelers are always super nice. The Dragon is great to ride and say yeah I’ve conquered the Dragon. But it’s really all the roads around it that are awesome and fun to ride!!! Long winding sweeping roads that never seem to end are more tailored to a Shark. The Cherohala is probably my favorite
