I've been reading all the windshield post and can't make heads or tales over windshields.

I'm 6'4", even bodied, and the stock windshield doesn't cut it. Not looking to change seat to lower or set back, so with that info, what size windshield should I start looking at getting for my 15 RSG?

I was thinking 8" total rise, but looks like a lot of people are going way more?

I read a review on a 14" Freedom Shield that was written by a guy who is 6'4", and he said it made a ton of difference. The overall rise is 6", and, judging from the pics on their website, it doesn't look too incredibly tall. I'm 6'5", but I have a short upper body, and I think I'm going to try the 14" Freedom Shield. As long as you don't remove the protective film they put on for shipping, you can send it back for a different size or refund, less shipping fees.

What does "even bodied" mean? ;)

What Viking said.. anything you can return can't be wrong. Have a friend help you measure... when you're sitting normal on the bike you should juuuust peek over the top of the windshield. Pretty sure that holds true for almost any of the windshield designs out there. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). Then go from there

First question to ask yourself, do you want "Form over Function" or do you want a shield that actually performs the way you need it?

I'm 6'3 and run a 14" LRS Mako shield along with a Le Pera DDL seat which is down and back. I easily see over the shield and still have buffetingw issues. Wish I would have went with the 16" to begin with. Oh, at 6'4 I don't think an 8" shield would do much good, my 2 cents.

If your bike doesn't already have them, I recommend installing the HD crash bar flaps, and the GADS LTTD then play with the vents before you start shuffling windshields... A lot of the "dirty air" comes from below the fairing.

The 12" Windsplitter works for me, I have the vented lowers in addition to the pieces mentioned above. 6'4"

I run lowers and a 14" Mako on my 09. Works great. Took the flaps off. Couldn't tell the difference.

2015 Glide, hate the stock windshield, not sure I like the fairing. I'm 6'2, read the reviews and bought a Klockwerks Pro Tour, think they are 15". While better I still don't like it. The ht is just high enough to get the wind just over my helmet. The shape of the top of the windshield changes quickly and creates a wind stream just to the side of the helmet also. If there is ANY cross wind that wind stream is directed right into my Helmet. I've played with the 2015 holes in my fairing and see no appreciable difference. I have installed GADS which help but seemed a bit small compared to what i ran on my Honda. I'm getting ready to buy a C Bailey? If I wanted wind in my face I would not buy a motorcycle with a fairing. I know its a bike by my helmet doesn't need to be shaking. My hearing isn't what it used to be and less wind equals less noise so better to listen to the radio. I have a Honda VTX1800 with a Street Glide fairing and you can light a cigarette behind it at 60mph. I also ride when it's just above freezing and the more air you can re-direct the warmer the ride. Now to get rid of that heat generating device beside my right leg. I bought the HD soft lowers to try and really like how much wind they re-direct, nice when it's cold.

I'm 6'4" 34" inseam. I got the 14.5 inch dark madstad after trying multiple shields and dropping a lot of $$$ on crappy shields. The madstad might not look as cool but it works amazing and makes riding so much more enjoyable. It is similar to my Honda ST1300 that I ride at work. Separates the shield from the fairing and all you feel is smooth non buffeting wind from above and below the shield.

+1, even though I think the Madstad is cool looking, maybe not as cool as a toenail shield but cool in its own way, It's with out doubt the best protection shield going.

I'm 6'5". I have the Harley 'dog dish' flaps, the GADS and a 16" Freedom Shield on a '13 RGC with a Mustang seat that sits me down 1" and back 2".

If you ride with a passenger don't forget to make sure what you get works for them as well
X2, the 14" Freedom Shield was good for me but not for her. As others have said, you can try out the Freedom Shields and send them back if it's not what you want. Customer service is very good with them.
Once again, I have a '13 not a '15. Good luck.
