6th Gear Light Flashing on downshift into 2nd

The speed sensor in the transmission has a magnet and can attract metallic particles from the gears. This can and will cause issues with the speedo and gear indicator. Pull it and wipe the face of it off and that should cure your problems. If not it may be going bad. Either way its a fairly common problem.
