Went to check on my father in law over the 4th in Montana. Wanted to get there quickly to see a few sites when I was there.
Left Muscatine Iowa last Tuesday and rode straight threw to Sheridan, WY. Great weather and a 1031 mile day. The next day i was headed to Bozeman MT to hook up with my son. Rode 14A out of Sheridan and on to Cody. Great ride. Then onto the Chief Joseph Hwy #296 and onto the Beartooth Hwy into Red Lodge MT. Both are incredible roads even after riding the before. From there onto Bozeman and hooking up with my son on his Road king.
The next morning we headed south through west yellowstone, idaho falls, craters of the moon and the night in Twin Falls, Id. The next morning we were on Idaho 75 through Stanley and Salmon,ID. A great ride with some great scenery on the way. We continued on to Butte,Bozeman, Billings and our final destination of Melstone, Mt. A long day but a good one.
We stayed there for a couple days riding locally and visiting family. Nice riding but watch for wildlife. Best to put the bikes up at night. On the 5th I headed back for home. Through the Black hills and onto Iowa for a 1181 mile day. Got chased the whole evening by storms but never got wet. Long day, 4157 mile week and 2 iron butts. Great week and the bike was flawless.

Just did a 7200 mile loop over 2 weeks a couple weeks ago over most of those roads. Beautiful & awesome. The wind gusts at the peak of Beartooth had me a little puckered.

Brukus...that's some good riding. I just moved to NW Wyoming two years ago from Moline. The Chief Joseph and Beartooth awesome. You never know about the weather though. In fact, right now the Beartooth Highway is closed with 4 inches of snow and gusty winds...
