98 RG single post turn signal to newer 2 post fitment?

Howdy all,

I'm going to be putting ghost brackets on my '98 RG but have noticed that the turn signals from that year were a single post that mount on the fairing support brackets a little under the fairing. Removing that support bracket also remove the mount for the front turn signals. I was wondering if the later year turn signals (those with the 2 posts that go through the fairing) will fit on a '98 fairing (assuming the wiring is the same)?

Worse case scenario I can just cut the fair support brackets and have the turn signals mount just below the fairing: Go hacksaw and dremel on those bad boys haha :D.

Many thanks,
-D

the newer will mount, the wiring is a little different however if you can solder nothing that can't be fixed, the only other difference that I know of is the newer outer fairings,04 up I believe , have a cutout between the holes for the wiring to run thru.
I was going to change mine but I couldn't bring myself to attempt to cut that notch in my fairing , I never tried mounting newer signals without cutting but I believe it would pinch the wires.
If you ask perhaps one of the people here with a newer outer can trace the pattern for you if they have their fairing off or signals off for some reason and that would give you a pattern for the cutout needed for the wiring if you decide to go that route. The signals can usually be found reasonable on Ebay or post in the wanted here .
