what an interesting weekend for the new glide, Friday we spent about 2 hours stuff in traffic at the approach to the GW Bridge, bike overheated 2 times, last time there was zero shoulder so I just stopped in the right lane of the Cross Bronx Expressway, anyone who knows this road knows this is not a desireable place to stop! The bike took about 20 minutes to cool down enough to start again......accident cleared we flew over the bridge and off to Cortland NY (for a graduation)....80-90 the whole way there the bike was flawless and fun!
Sunday weather forcast from Friday 20-30% chance of rain.....I'm in the wrong business.....Rained about the whole way home traffic was light so I did between 60-80 depending on the road condition and amount of sweep in the turns......Again she was flawless, I can't say its a ton better than my 09 ultra, but it is better.....

Home safe sound and dry again....oh yeah the raingear is nice and dry on the hangers that I left it on when I left on Friday!

The Cross Bronx isn't even a desirable place to ride, let alone stop! The trouble is that Lawnguyland has a limited amount of real estate, and then it's like the movie "Escape From New York" to find a descent area off of the guyland!

I have been on the Cross Bronx many times and I get nervous every time we go across it. Like the song says; " Thank God I'm a Country Boy!!!"

It sucks watching your brand new bikes antenna slapping off minivans waiting for the crunch of saddlebags and fairing!

We were offered water from a cab driver, and got an attitude by an old lady excuse I was blocking part of her lane, all in all say what you want about New Yorkers but most people asked if we were ok and gave me plenty of room, they laughed when I said this seemed like a good place for lunch and took another bite of my sandwich

I was on the Cross Bronx yesterday, and if i never see that road again it will be too soon......
Funny thing is that 30 years ago, that and the BQE were our favorite late night race roads.....Just the thought of 3 Big Twins with drag pipes running through the Holland Tunnel still brings happy memories.:D
