Ive been kicking this idea around for awhile, and since I have no current bike projects, this may be my latest. Im thinking of building an adjustable windshield that would slide up or down, driven by a servo. Basically It would be a stock size shield or shorter, with an overlay shield that would extend up to your preference, doubling the shield height. The bottom part of the shield would be non-transparent to hide the overlay shield. Thoughts or ideas?

Sounds great but not sure how you could hide all of that to look good. Me being tall I would need more of a medium to high. It would be great to pull onto the highway and push a button to raise the shield up.

I would rather you mold a vented lower the would allow me to keep my crash bar fog lights.

Anythings possible, but it all takes time, and money. Im not familar with the mounting of these lights, but I would think they could be recessed into some lowers. What I think would work easily would be to add round fog lights to a recessed piece of pipe that had a lid moulded into it, so that installation would only be a hole drilled into the lowers and then slide the pipe in place.

Back to the windshield....This is an interesting setup which incorporates adjustable brackets that hold an overlay shield, bolted on top of your existing shield, with a multitude of different position possibilities.

Im not sure as to how clean you could make installation, but Im sure it would do wonders for wind buffering, and wind/rain protection. Price for two brackets is a $100.

Now back to the servo driven idea. Im thinking some drawer slides with an overlay windshield or pocketed shield attached to a electric window motor would suit the bill. Now to see if the idea will look right with the bike.

I would not even mind a manual one like this as long as the extended clear shield was behind a dark medium shield this way if the brackets were mounted underneith the medium dark shield you would not see them. Just stop and slide it before getting on the highway and it would double the heigth of the shield. Of coarse the power option would be the ultimate.

Very interesting idea, and I saw one on a Victory Touring bike, looked pretty cool, and almost invisible on the Victory (from what I remember).

Of course, execution is the key to to sucess on all ideas ....................
