Trying to adjust this new manual clutch but having a hard time. I am no stranger to motorcycle manual clutches but I haven't cracked the clutch cover to look. The new clutch is very tight and very little play. Any suggestions on getting some play in the clutch.

Loosen clutch cable at handlebar. Open up the derby cover then at the center of the clutch there is a nut with a allen screw , back off the jam nut then turn the allen screw into the clutch pack until it is seated , the back the screw out 1/2 to 1 turn and hold the allen from turning and tighten the jam nut. Then you can adjust the clutch lever play at the handlebar. Squeeze the clutch lever 2 to 3 times to seat the ball and ramp.
Then make the final clutch lever adjustment, you will know when the clutch lever is set right when the lever is all the way out and there is a little gap ( 1/16 to 1/8 inch) between the lever and the housing.
That's how it's done on my bike anyways.
