1. May I create a draft OPS PLAN for a 2018 Charity effort?

2. I propose an effort that would raise funds throughout the year AND include an event.

3. You may recall, I created and ran the REDWING 19 Charity for 5 years. We raised over $75K for the children of the 11 Navy SEALS and 8 Army SOAR-A lost in OPERATION REDWING 2005. In 2009 I also delivered 2 IBA World Records - largest group to ride 1K in 24 hours (385 riders) and that same group set another record at the same time for doing that ride all inside Virginia. We gave 97% of our funs to the families.

4. With your permission, I'd like to provide a preliminary draft by mid December.

*** DOOFUS HD recuses itself from this effort but will support in spirit!!!

Respectfully, Jim

Hey Doof,

This certainly sounds like a noble and terrific cause. A few questions for clarification: Are you thinking of this being a RG.org exclusive event, or is your request more along the lines of including the forum here as part of a larger cause? Also, I think we just want to make sure that we don't run into any conflicts with our "official" event, that being the annual Shark Week gathering. Though it's not primarily a fund raising event, we do contribute overflow funds, typically to a local charity.

Also, can you give us some clues as to what particular charitable event it would be? Feel free to PM me and/or any of the other admins.

The admins will huddle and we'll likely have to get some of the Verticalscope folks involved to see if there are any liability concerns and all of that stuff.

Sounds like it should be quite interesting!

THANX BOSS ! I'll PM you with a draft proposal. Initial answers for your questions =

1. "Are you thinking of this being a RG.org exclusive event?" = YES.

2. "don't run into any conflicts with our "official" event" = DEFINITELY NO CONFLICT W SHARK WEEK

3. "what particular charitable event it would be" = I'LL PROVIDE SOME OPTIONS - BUT - I WOULD LIKE TO SOLICIT MEMBERS OPINIONS

FYI - I'm proposing a year long "collection" of funds which has members directly donating in the name of our cause + an event that includes an IBA ride.

Will get you DRAFT by 26 NOV. Respects, Jim
