I have been looking around for a tour pack for my 2010 RG. Since I will only be using the tour pack for long trips I am really not into dropping $1200.00. I have been looking at the TJD Custom tour pack and was wondering if anyone has any feed back on the looks and quality of the TJD's tour packs.

thanks for the reply Chainsaw. I have been looking at the TJD tour pack for that last couple of weeks. My thouhgt is since I only plan on using the tour pack 3 to 4 times a year I didn't want to dump a ton of cash on it. Was thinking about useing the TJD pack with a detachable mount and painting it myself. Colorrite also has the vivid black in rattle cans and I have seen some decent paint jobs done like this.

For the price, you can't go wrong with the TJD trunk. I see he also carries black hinges and locks now.... very nice! Watch on ebay for a backrest,.. Ive seen them go for pretty cheap with a little scuffing or maybe a small tear.

I also saw some tour packs on ebay from a seller named bkstore08 that look very similar to the TJD tour packs only a little cheaper. Some of these have been selling for $99 + $40 shipping and handling. Placed a bid on a chopped tour pack if I win it I'll have a project on my hands.

Well I won the auction for this tour pack on ebay from a seller bkstore08. Ended up winning it for $26.02, plus the $40 shipping. The tour pack was delivered to my house today, but I am out of town on bussiness. When I make it back home at the end of next week I'll post some picture of the tour pack and report on the quality of this item. Having only spent a grand total of $66.02 I don't expect perfection, but being made of fiberglass figuared I could reglass the inside of the tour pac if it's flimmsy. J

All in all it isn't a bad looking box. I think the color match some HD colors for $50.00 more??
You can still order the stuff you want from them.
Another note..I did mount mine thru a 1/4" piece of plywood and covered with carpet to help "strengthen" the bottom. Like I said many mikes and no problems.

The tour pack that I ordered of Ebay is not the Matusa. This tour pack looks just like the Harley Tour Pac and opens to the side. All Harley hardware is supposed to fit. It was delivered in a couple weeks ago and I have not had much time to mess with it. I was able to take it out of the box and look it over last time I was home, and was a little disappointed. I had figured the fiberglass would be thin and flimsy, but hell I paid under $70 for the thing. I could have easily corrected this problem since I have fixed a surfboard or two in my day. What I did not count on was the poor fit between the lid and the bottom of the tour pack. There is no way this thing is going to close correctly without some work. I will try and post some picture of what I am talking about once I return home. I got what I paid for, but with under $70 invested I will throw it in the corner of the garage and work on it as time permits. Hell I may even lean something along the way (future DYI paint project)…

Impressed with my 'Brand X' Tour Pak

Like the earlier posters, I was just looking for a nice, larger than my H-D Chopped Tour Pak, that I could use from time to time to haul more 'stuff'. Didn't know if I would like a non-MOCO Pak on my baby, but geezuz - for the price I thought I would take my chances and see what I get. Bought one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0414022829&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Got it in 2 days (!), and I have to tell you I was really, really impressed. Vivid black finish is very nice, as is the backrest, and it appeared to be very well made (molded ABS). Even came with the 'luggage'. I bolted it to a new 2-up quick attach rack so I could swap it out easily with my other Pac. It's been on a number of rides since July, and I have had no issues - and hey, it doesn't even look as weird as I thought it would! :^)

For the price and the quality, I am very pleased. Just my $.02.

Have a safe day!
