I would expect the dealer should offer 16,000 for your bike. I was thinking of downsizing to since the birth of my son, riding is now a weekend en devour. Not thinking of going back to Dynas but a Fatbob doesn't work for me since I'm short of legs and it's only offered in forward controls.

Before getting my '13 RGC I had a Fat Bob. Liked it, but it really wasn't suitable for the longer trips. Not that I do that many long trips but it seems every year I'm getting more long rides in.

So, in any given week most of my riding is my county of residence and the adjoining counties. My favorite time to ride is after dinner in nice weather when traffic has died down and I still have several hours of daylight. And I do not feel disadvantaged at all by scooting around the suburbs, maybe making a stop or two, maybe grabbing a beer at an outside dining place, and getting on and off my RG numerous times. I love my RG and I don't miss my Fat Bob at all. I can only have one bike so it must "do it all" and the RG fits that bill much better than my Fat Bob could have.

Besides, now that I can have my music while I ride I'm addicted to it. :)
i couldn't agree more with this statement. I just got a 13RGC about a month ago coming from a softail and crotch rockets before that. I do understand when you say a smaller more nimble bike is more convenient for shorter rides yes, however the saddle bags are absolutely priceless for running errands. And mentioned by louisville joe above the radio is awesome imo. The glide is clearly bigger but not at all bad to manuever. My wife only lets me have one bike so I chose the RGC and love every minute of it.

Thanks everyone one for all of your opinions and comments. I have a feeling I'll be keeping my rg. I wouldn't mind having the fatbob as a second bike but in my case it would be a 3rd bike. My husband broke his knee cap and had to have surgery. We bought a new triglide for him because his knee will never be stable enough again on a bike, so anyways I just can't justify a 3rd hd. Lok

I love Dynas as much as anyone, I'm currently on my third one. But unless you're just head-over-heels in love with a new Fat Bob, it's not a good trade. The 2015 FXDF is $16k, so I'd guess at best you might get an even swap. That makes no sense unless you just have your heart set on it. The Fat Bob has been pretty much the same since it debuted in 2008, so you can easily find a clean one under $10k. That leaves you plenty of room to mod it to your taste.

Keep the Roadglide. You'll be glade you did. I did pick up a used 1997 Heritage Softail in December for around town/bar hopping, and I ride the 2012 Roadglide Ultra on weekend trips with the wife.

I picked up the Heritage for $6K with 17K mileage. - Not bad. Essentially it is still brand new, and runs like a top. Oh yeah it had the original 17 year old tires on it. I am so glad I bought this. It fills the void for a second motorcycle for me.

Here it is: With new tires, Exhaust pipe, saddlebags, and a new seat.

I came from a Heritage and loved the softtail but won't go back. There's also a Triumph America in my garage that my wife used to ride. I kept it thinking it would be nice to knock around on. Well, it never gets ridden. Less than 2,000 miles on it in the last 3 years. It's going away this year. Someday I may get a smaller bike than the RGS again but it will more than likely be a second bike, and a Dyna at that.

I went through this, however, i was looking at a second bike. I had picked up a used bmw gsa1200 to go with my road glide. however, i hated riding it cause its not well, not a harley. I love riding to harley shops and talking with harley guys, so i looked at trading it in for a breakout. However, i am too big and look stupid on the breakout as i found out today, and i really can't afford or justify two bikes, so i am selling the bmw to fund new wheels and new bars for my road glide which still has stock ones. I told my wife i am selling the bmw for the better of the family, i looked like a unselfish hero, i am such a douche.
