Hello all, a couple months back I scooped up my 2015 Road Glide Special, very happy with it. The mods have already started rolling, new bars should be in sometime this week.

One of my, especially my wifes, biggest peeves is the audio. Or the lack of. So I recently purchased a set of JBL GTO 638 that other RG'ers had recommended. They are 2 ohm speakers, and I have just begun researching 2 ohm amplifiers, but I am totally out of my comfort zone knowledge wise. I am hoping someone could help she'd some light

I would like to go with a 4 channel anplifier, just incase I decide to Install new lids with speakers down the road. I'm also not looking to break the bank, was hoping to find something budget wise, around $100.

I recently came across a video of a guy running the Kenwood kac-m1804 amp on his rg, which is a 4 ohm amplifier, and he had said as long as a were to wire my 2 ohm speakers in series, total of a 4 ohm impedemce, I would be good.

Thoughts?

What is your budget? I can tell you that I have a great system in my 14 SGS that I am swapping over into my 15 RGS....
Soundz Customz Level IV system

Arc Audio XDI 600.4 ( 150x4 )
Focal 165KRC's for the faring
Hybrid Audio Technologies 157-2 5x7's in my lids

I am waiting the arrival of my RGS amp tray to mount the amp...

Here is a preview of what my system sounds like.... I know video doesn't illustrate loudness, but distance and clarity does.... just watch my video. It's also on their website

This system will be in my 2015 RGS in a week....

Joe.stevens101 ,,,,,

the following two, 2-ohm capable 4-ch amplifier kits are the best I know of for your 2015 RoadGlide ,,,, but they are no where near $100 ,,,,,,

now look them over and if either one of them fit into your budget ,,,, I will give you a good discount promo code to ease the destruction a bit ,,,,,,,

totally plug-n-play of course and covered by our 20 year warranty to the original purchaser ,,,,,,

Spazzz, that is a bitch'n system, I dig you bike man. Sounds great.

As for the links to the amplifiers listed above, the warranty is fantastic, the kit looks excellent, and iv heard great reviews on these systems. Unfortunetly, for an amplifier these are extremely beyond my comfort zone price wise. Thank you for your recommendation, just out of my price range for now

If I were you I would find a 2 ohm stable amp that will allow you to run 2 ohms. If you wire in series, then now you've take your usable RMS down to 30w/channel which IMO would not give you anything over your stock speakers.

If you can't afford it, I would save your money and wait until you can.

I hope that helps.

Best advice I can give you.... save your money! and don't waste money by buying twice and three times over. I did around 10 months of research before I got my system.

I've got the Soundstream 4.1000D running 4x 6.5 speakers. Pretty impressed with it! I believe more people are running the PN 4.520 and seem pretty happy with it! For a budget amp, I believe they are well worth it! Don't buy direct from their site, look on ebay or find an authorized retailer for a better price.

You get what you pay for and sometimes not even that. I had Hawgwired and went to biketronics, very happy with their 180W amp. Heard good things about 2 channel PBR rockford though. Do it right the first time, or you will do it again and spend more

Save a little, and buy a decent amp. Unless you have a friend selling a good used amp $100 isn't going to get you anything you'll be happy with.

What these guys say. I'm on my 3rd cheap amp. 1st was Hog tunes, not enough umph. 2nd was RF pbr 300x 2 , died after 6 months. Now I have the SS pn520.4, it's doing good so far 8 months in ,but it really limits radio reception running it in the fairing.

Save your money and buy once.

A better than stock windshield will do much more for you than a cheap amp. Made a huge difference for me
I think I know you!!! Reno4x4 ring a bell? LOL

I said it 1000 times.... research... take your time and buy once.... DON'T SETTLE just because you are short on funds.... SAVE UP!!! and you won't regret a penny

I used the amp you speak of on my 15RGS along with Pioneer step up from stock 6.5 in the front and 6X8 in the rear lids and sounds great. Amp dont pull much power and now i can hear the radio at 70mph with my really loud Vance and Hines street sweepers. In the garage without the bike running its too loud to stand beside. I have around 200 bucks in the whole set up. Downfall is cutting the bag lids buckets to fit the 6X8, maybe 5X7 will work in there without cutting out the buckets. Then I had to cut all the factory wiring out of the head unit to connect to the amp and the amp to the speakers. Amp in in fairing under head unit. There was a video a guy put on youtube Max something that covers the Kenwood amp a little.

Spazz,

That sounds great! If I did that, the HOA stalkers would put notices all over my lawn! Lol!

For the OP, save your money, do it once! Over three bikes, I've gone from Boom Audio.....to Hawg Wired Amps, Focal and Hertz Speakers, and tourpak subwoofers. And not the direct route!($$$$$$) Your sound while riding is a function of your audio system, your pipes, the guy in front of you's pipes, and your windshield. So getting good highway speed music is gonna cost you any way you look at it. Good luck.
