It's a known fact the Harley's have issues with the neutral switch on the clutch reservoir which I'm having replaced tomorrow at the dealership.
This morning it wouldn't start in gear again, but this time I noticed something a little different. If the bike is running and you turn off the bike with the stop/start switch, leave the ignition switch on, it won't start when the clutch is pulled in. But if you cycle the ignition switch, pull the clutch in and then try to start it in gear it will start.

Anyone else seen this?

Nope, but then don’t know I’ve actually followed that sequence of events. Gonna have to give it a try when I have access to my bike.

edit: pulled in clutch, dropped her in first, turned kill switch on, turned ignition on, hit the start, started right up. Hit the kill switch, left ignition on, released and pulled in clutch, turned kill switch on, hit start, started right up.

It ain’t me, so must be you. They’ll get her fixed up for ya.

Mine seems to be working as you described after the dealership replaced the switch, I hope it holds upland doesn't give me anymore trouble.
