Lots of discussion on this, and I've already posted my opinions on the cause and solution. That being said, I'm sure as hell no expert, and I'm curious to see really how common the wobble is, and if it is fixed as easily as I suspect.

Here's the deal on the poll.

It's only for 2009-2011 Road Glides. No offense to pre 09 owners, but as it appears to mostly affect the newer frame, I want to narrow the poll to the newer bikes. Please don't vote unless you have a 2009, 2010 or 2011, as it would just muddy the waters for the later models, and make finding a solution more difficult for all model years...

Also, the intent of the poll is not start another discussion about how your dealer wont address it under warranty, and your still arguing with them. If you or your dealer have not tightened the steering head bearing to the new fall-away specification, or your not sure how many swings they adjusted it to, and still you have the wobble, please hold your vote until you know for sure.

I know this sounds somewhat rude, but I'm hoping to gather some data we can all use. That way, those riders that are pulling their hair out with their service department can have some ammo to go in with the next time they bring their ride into the shop...

You can click multiple options if it took more than one thing to fix it.

Thanks!

Edit: Also, if you have modified your suspension set up; oversized front wheel, raised or lowered suspension, car tires on the rear, etc., please hold off on voting. I'd like to help us all find the solution on a stock bike first, then we can address modification issues later...

You are missing a choice..."I guess it's there but don't notice it."

I had to try to get my bike to do the wobble and if I had to try then I'm not worried about it.

Super idea, and if I may suggest one more choice. "Didn't have the wobble, until I installed an oversize aftermarket front wheel". Just a thought.

Good point. If this is the case for any late model owners, please note it in your post. I'm also going to ask that folks hold their vote on modified bikes...

I'm wondering if I go w/a 26" front wheel or a 23" it mite take care of the "Wobble" instead of the 21"?
Changing the steering geometry that much....hard to tell what it will do. Done without raking the trees, you'll have so much trail, that it will handle like an 18 wheeler. Give me 40 acres, and I'll turn this rig around!:) You'll also have to consider how much suspension travel you will lose. With 26" front wheels, there ain't a whole lotta space between the top of the fender, and the bottom of your fairing. For a proper job, I think one would have to rake it, and lengthen the forks. Speaking for myself; I think the "big wheels" look cool as hell, but from a performance standpoint....not a good idea.

My front end was basically Stock on my 2009. At the time it happened, I had not added the Tour Pak or Lowers. It was basically Stock and just over a month from the time I had bought it. I didn't know about the "Front End Wobble" until I had it happen to me. I was decelerating from around 40 MPH and took my hands off the handlebars. The front end started the Wobble and stopped as soon as I put my hands back on the bars. I was on a cross country trip. I took it to Tripp's in Amarillo TX. They told me about the front end adjustment. I found that this is supposed to be done during the Initial Dealer Set Up when the bike is first removed from packing, during the dealer Prep. You usually pay for this when you buy the bike. I hit the road and it never has happened again.

I've got a 21 inch aftermarket wheel on the front of my 2010, so didn't do the poll. I got the wobble during an 800 mile Christmas weekend ride, but it came with hands firmly on the grips. Most of the threads seem to ID the issue when hands are off the bars, so I'm not sure if my issue is applicable. Sounds like I need an adjustment on the steering head based on what I've researched so far. It sure does get your attention at 80-85 mph.
