Well it seems I have volunteered to host Anti-Sharkweek 2017. The event will take place in Sonora CA at the Best Western Sonora Oaks Hotel and Conference Center. They have a BBQ area, Pool, and a real restaurant. Looks like a good breakfast is included and they also have "real" food. Lol

The riding in this area is amazing. One possible ride is over Sonora Pass (108) to 395, then up to Markleeville for lunch before heading back over Ebbetts Pass (4). We are close to Jamestown, Murphys, Angels Camp, El Dorado (Where Poor Red's is serving Golden Cadilacs)

What I need from you is to know what dates work best for folks:

June 23-26th, 2017 Friday-Monday Cost for 3 nights $429.97 +tax
Sept 15-18th, 2017 Friday-Monday Cost for 3 nights $322.97 +tax

Note Street Vibrations is the following Thursday-Sunday Sept 21-24. You can start heading over to Reno from here and spend some time in Tahoe and maybe hit Reno on Wednesday night when rooms are still cheap. LOL

Once I hear what most folks like, I will finalize the room block with the hotel. The minimum # of rooms needed for this rate is 6 rooms. Once we decide on a time, I would ask that you at least make reservations so that we fill the rooms. You can always cancel later. BUT you won't want to. (At least based the past year's good times).

Looking forward to hearing from those interested in going.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Bill

Got stuck in Yosemite a few years ago when parts of the park was on fire, our planned route out was shut down and we had reservations in Bridgeport that night, so we crossed the Sonora Pass in the dark, with 24 bikes, it was both challenging and exhilarating, with it's 27% grade, hair pin turns, and almost reaching 10,000 altitude without any natural light because the smoke had covered the sky...I was waiting for Big Foot to jump out any any second..I would like to see it in the daylight someday and see the view we missed.

Love the venue and the plans. Hope to make it this time. The June dates work great for me. Can't do September.

Thanks for taking on the organizing duties, Bill.
