[Too Short]

Does anyone know of a way to make it hard for a thief to steal your seat? I just put a new Corbin on it and the strap that comes with the stock seat is too short. So basically all that's holding it on is the bolt in the back. Shitty. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you buy something from DR. V-twin, they will send a complimentary security screw with your shipment. It is simply a hold down screw with a special wrench shape. It is not 100% secure, but it will slow down the thief a few minutes.

Heh ........... Been to going to Sturgis, Daytona, all 48 states since I started riding 50 years ago. I've never had squat jacked from any of my rides. And yes, I've had several custom built Corbin seats along with Mustang seats. I've never had the saddle bag guard bags gone into or stolen and they just snap on. If your insurance carrier isn't covering your add on items, you need to find different insurance !

Securing the seat

New guy here, first post. I think I can help with this one.
Walmart sells these fasteners

they will be located in the automotive section, by the mirrors and ashtreys and plastic bling, and they are a couple of bucks.
They are standard 1/4 X 20, so they fit in many places on a harley dresser, but they are a little too long for the seat bolt, so mark the stem 1/2 in" long, wrap the bolt head in a rag and cut it to size with a hacksaw

Put a couple of drops of Blue Loctite on the threads and you are set. Just don't loose the wrench, lol.

I would never, never, ever take advice that stuff on a bike is secure when its just bolted on. Sorry Mickey, but you have only been lucky so far. The world is over flowing with thieves.
The Corbin seat is a known valuable item and the model that doesn't have a lock will become a choice target.

Thanks for the info on the Bell security screws from Walmart. Picked up one today.
$5.00 for a security screw plus a spare will keep me feeling better about that Hammock seat sitting over night alone.

I've always taken that strap off all my bikes. never had a problem with just using the screw on the back. the stap doesnt work with after market seats anyway. (that I know of).

I use those same security screws for license plate. Got them simply because they looked cool at first, security was a bonus. I have lost the wrench key years ago and use vise grip and rag when I've needed to remove plate. It slows them down is right, but nothing is xxx-PROOF.

if you go to your local fastenal, you can get a 1/4 x 20 x 1/2 security torx screw and the security torx wrench for less than $5.00.

but if you lose this wrench, you aint getting it with a rag and visegrips

I bought a seat security kit from a company that is on here for my Road Glide, and it works just fine. But, I just got a new seat for my Wide Glide and found the same bolts on ebay for $5.50. Well, that's for 10 of them, instead of $16.95 for the Brukus kit for one, plus $6.00 shipping and handling. Although these don't come with the plastic button cap, so I guess that's the price difference.

Appreciate that you found bolts at a good price on eBay and also that you purchased our Fender Security Screw in the first place to know what to look for on eBay. Just wanted to clarify that we have our bolts custom made, the security tool costs a lot more than the bolt and is part of the package, and of course the cap and washers. If we sold all of that just one for $5.50, we would not be in business as we would be losing money. But I can't knock someone who can sell them for that and make money.

Does this bolt use a different tool vs a standard torx driver pattern? I can't really tell from the pics on your site and I'd like to have something that uses a custom tool over a standard torx/allen/phillips head.
