I am planning a trip to Arkansas in the next few weeks. Heading up from Houston. Tentative plan is first night in Mena, next in Eureka, 3rd around hot springs, then home. Plan on getting in about 4-500 miles per day. Want to ride Talimena, 23, 21, 16, 7, 123 and a few others probably only getting as far east as Mountain home.

Looking for advice. I know I can find tons of resources but really want input from folks that have been there. Thanks in advance!

What other don't miss roads would you recommend? Please include start and finish.

Nice places to stay. Not looking for fancy, just clean(no bedbugs) and comfortable. Breakfast is a plus.

Don't miss places to stop. Could be a town, an eatery, scenic, historic etc...

Check out the 2016 Spring BBQ Run threads. Its in just over 2 weeks on 4/22 and 4/23. Base camp will be Eureka Springs with rides on Friday and Saturday covering the areas you mention, less the Talimena scenic byway. Bunch of riders coming up from Texas I hear. You want to hit Talimena Scenic byway and take it to the Mount Magazine Scenic Byway. We camp at Mount Magazine but they have a great lodge and restaurant.

If you get near Fayetteville, AR you have eat at Hermans Ribhouse.

Enjoy your visit to our beautiful state.

Hwy 23 south out of Eureka is a great ride with some beautiful scenery.
And if you're on 23 anyway, you might as well ride the entire Pig Trail down to at least Cass, Arkansas.

The Talimena Scenic byway is amazing and since it can be "kind of on the way" you should hit it on the way up or the way back. That is a fantastic ride.

You might take a look at a the Trails Inn. They are located in Eureka Springs on HWY 62. It is not fancy but it is clean and priced right. There is also a great place across the road to get breakfast. This place was recommended to me by some from this sight and we stayed a week and we are going back in June.

Looking at a map, draw a box in which the sides are 23, 62, 123, and 40. Anything within that box is great, 23 being the least exciting of them.

If ya hit Harrison around lunch check out Neighbor's Mill and Bakery. Great sandwiches, soup and salads. Locally owned, 1012 Hwy 65 North.

all of those roads you listed are nice rides! out of those IMO hwy 123 from Western Grove to Lamar is my favorite. hwy 14 from just north of harrison to allison (mtn. view) is a awesome ride. while in eureka take hwy 23 north about 8 miles turn onto hwy 187 to beaver there is a wooden miniature golden gate bridge that crosses beaver lake. Jasper, Boxley Valley (lots of elk in that area) the NW corner of the state has the best ride be hard not to find a good one!!!

Yesterday my "friends" backed out of the Spring BBQ Run and I can't afford to go alone ($400+)... I guess I'm out... If anyone needs me to transfer my room I have reserved at the Eureka Springs Best Western for that Friday (22nd) and Saturday (23rd) let me know by this Monday, I'm gonna cancel the reservation then. (room for up to three people)

This sucks big time. If anyone near me might want to go/split costs, let me know.

That's just the kind of unusual thing I'm looking for.

The great things about NW Arkansas is that there aren't a whole lot of people there, and the locals understand that a lot of out-of-town money comes in from riders. Add to that the roads are well-marked and well-maintained. Easily one of the top 5 motorcycle destinations in the continental US.

+1 on the 123 run. That is about my favorite in the state. Short running 2 up version here is 123 from Western Grove to Mt Judea out to Hwy 7 and hang a right on 7 to Jasper then Harrison and Hwy 65 south towards home.

My in-laws are in Mt View. We use to lived there. Hwy 341 Push Mountain is always a fun little run.
