Avoid Ridebikegear.com

I would avoid Ridgear.com at all costs. I paid over $750 for a set of stretched vivid black bags. They arrived broken and the paint was marred from the substandard packaging, additionally, the interior of the bags were tacky as if the paint never cured or was mixed improperly. I couldn't get a phone number to talk to a live body about the issue and when I finally decided to contest the issue with my credit card, the guy actually had the nerve to email me and call me a "[email protected] [email protected]" because I initiated a dispute with my card. He also insisted that I pay for return shipping on this crap, which would have been a pretty penny. Apparently it was shipped from Canada and they wanted me to pay for shipping to New York, no phone numbers, hid behind the identity of email and lastly, they registered me on a Badbuyer.com web site because I initiated a claim with my credit card. Folks, I have excellent credit, a good reputation with Amazon and ebay, and definitely am pretty easy to please, this guy is a crook.

There are several other companies that offer decent knock off bags and accessories, I actually landed a set of stretched bags from Matazu after the above issue and they actually care about their reputation and do the best they can with knock off overseas parts.

After reading your post I wanted to check out their website. Google was unable to find it.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Do yourself a favor next time and get the opinions of some of the people here on the forum that might have done business with a company that you're thinking of buying from. I Googled them and looked at their reviews and the majority of them were less than satisfactory. I live by the saying, "you get what you pay for".

"Grumpy" rider:D
He sure is Grumpy and a little PISSED too. But I can't blame him and it is good to have the heads up!
But I would think that "Ridegear" doesn't manufacture the aftermarket parts they are just one of many retail outlets that sell these chinese made HD knock offs.
I am just guessing but I would bet that "Ridegear" doesn't even see or touch the parts, they probably just order from the warehouse and have the product shipped directly from the warehouse to the customer.
Still there is no excuse for "Ridegear" not to address the issue and make it right unless there is more to the story.

I'd like to see the "[email protected] [email protected]" email reply from any company that takes hard-earned money from customers for inferior products. What kind of legit company does that? That'll put another nail in in the [email protected] company to help shut them down. I obviously don't like dishonest people and businesses.

Post it up!!!!...unless there IS more to the story :D

On a similar note, after dealing with this overly rude crook company from out of country, I came across Mutazu.com. I found them to be with less than two hours drive and figured I should drive and check things out after my experience with ridebikegear.com. They sold a similar product from oversees China if not the same thing but cared about customer service and inspected the stuff that came and went. The quality was what you would expect from an oversees knock off but if you can handle or fix small paint imperfections it was a bargain at about $550 for a set of vivid black stretched bags. I noted a few paint runs and realized some quick color sanding would fix it and the sales lady offered a discount saying that I saved them from negative feedback on eBay or Amazon so a win for everyone. Good people working with realistic expectations of oversees knock off product but still providing a respectable level of customer service.

You should make a formal complaint through your state Attorney General. I had a similar issue with Kahr Arms with a pistol that wouldn't work. Only after they were contacted by the State Attorney General did they make it right.
Good luck and I will spread the word about ridebikegear.com
