Got back from my 12-day trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon.
We stayed off the interstates and here's where we stopped each night:
  • Pagosa Springs, CO
  • McCook, NE
  • Ames, IA
  • Racine, WI - we stayed with friends for 4 nights
  • Rockford, IL - to visit my niece
  • La Harpe, KS - to visit one of the guy's folks
  • Liberal, KS
  • Socorro, NM
We rode in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.

I filled the tank 26 times and used 98 gallons of fuel. I averaged 43 mpg over the 4,265 mile odyssey. Turned over 51,000 on my '11 FLTRU on the trip.

We rode in maybe 30 minutes of rain over the entire route: north of Farmington, NM and in Rockford, IL. We waited out a thunderstorm near St Louis inside a car wash.

Saw lots of great sights, rode lots of nice roads, met lots of great people... generally had an awesome trip. Finagled a parade pass and rode in the parade. Went to MoCo headquarters, Museum, power train plant. Summerfest grounds.

Still haven't gotten to all the photos, but here's a couple:

That's one of the 27 antennae that comprise the Very Large Array (VLA) in southern NM. This was a rare sight: the orange "truck" was repositioning this one; in fact it crossed the road in front of us.
