So looking for replacement suggestions. 2004 road glide. Reno HD says the comp and stator are loose and possibly in need of replacement. Bike rode to Reno perfectly and now is making a grinding noise in primary.
So uhaul is ready and I will bring back home today.
Looking for replacement ideas and or any other help.

Just stay oem. You still have one of the good comps.. The moco didn't put in the troubled one's until they added the 96 CI engine stock.

But I would look at Cycle Electric to upgrade your whole charging system. You can move to a 3 phase system with higher output and more reliability than the stock system. I did the complete upgrade on mine when my voltage regulator went out. No more dimming lights and dropping voltage at idle with my heated clothing plugged in and the stereo and amp cranked up.

Well, it could have been a lot worse. This was the damage, charging system working like a champ again now.

Uhaul worked great for bringing bike back home.
