converting my 08 batwing to a RG fairing. looking for any insight and tips from those who have already done this project. i would rather spend a few thousand on this project, than buy a new road glide and have to redo/re buy all that i have already done to my bike that perfect for me, and paid for! thank you.

I haven't done a conversion, but I have rebuilt my front end, I don't think it will cost a few thousand, especially if you're careful when buying the parts needed and buy them at a discount from someone like PC Pain (Jon at Horny Toad HD).

I did a 2015 limited to an RG. It wasn't too difficult. You have to be careful with the wiring. Where are you in Fla? Got all my parts from PC Pain.

Use the later model fairing mount so you can use vented lowers. You will need two sub-harnesses, that I would buy instead of cutting and splicing. One harness is for the fairing and a harness for the nacelle.

I,m down in miami. scored an inner fairing, and a headlight nacelle from a buddy. nervous about buying outer fairing from ebay, so i'm probably going to bite the bullet and spend the extra cash to buy one from harley. trying to get all of the part numbers together.

I completed my conversation on Friday and got to ride it some this weekend. All I can say is wow!! the Road Glide just rides so much better and feels so light compared to the batwing I'm sold I will never go back.

I absolutely love it... I like the look so much better and the ride is amazing it feel so much lighter then the batwing its truly like a new bike. I know its a love/hate with the T-bar look on the rode glide but I love them on here its like a big comfortable dyna. I borrrowed a few demo windshield from my buddy that works at the local HD dealer over here and I'm going to try those this week.
