I've been looking at the "Pit Boss" helmet after going through so many great reviews but there have been a couple that indicated that the visor is too close to the face to accommodate a person who wears prescription glasses. I'm looking to see if anyone here who wears glasses has also tried this particular helmet and can provide specific feedback on this. Thanks.

I have the Carbon Fiber edition, a couple of things.

1. I normally wear a large helmet got the l-xl size, had to take out the adjuster and it still just barely fits so watch sizing.

2. Wind tends to blow up behind the visor along with rain at speed 70+mph

3. Optical clarity of the visor (at least the dark one) is not great I get rainbow's and distortion. Not enough to discontinue use but it is a disturbance.

4. Helmet is light and comfortable just a little tight with a do rag on as an XL.

No I do not have any issues with glasses Prescription or sunglasses

I have the Bell Pit Boss, came with the darkened visor. I rarely wear my prescription glasses when riding but, on a couple of occasions, I had my glasses on and didn't have any problems with the visor flipped down. Also carry a pair of non-Rx type of goggles I bought at Cycle Gear. The lenses are clear and have a type of foam liner around the edge of the lenses and I put them on at dusk when I don't need the tinted helmet visor--but I have flipped the visor down when wearing the goggles and haven't had any problem.

Bell "Pit Boss" and glasses

I have the Pit Boss. It's probably my most used half helmet. The adjustment at the base of the skull really snugs and stabilizes the helmet without creating any discomfort. If I were to go down and hit my head on a hard surface, I think it would stay in place. All things considered, probably my favorite half helmet for combined quality, safety, and looks.

There are nice quality speaker pockets for Bluetooth communications.

The strap is good quality, but the common double-D shaped rings for adjusting and looping back to secure. I wish more helmets would use the ribbed fastener and quick release pull tab like my smaller and less protective helmet from BikeHelmets.com. I like the ribbed fastener and quick release mechanism so much I'm thinking about custom sewing it in place of the Pit Boss's D ring system.

The dark visor was really bad. It was distorted toward the center, and I thought there must have been a thin layer of the protective plastic stuck on there...but no, it was just bad quality. It seemed to create weird double vision issues when the light hit It at an angle, which was really distracting...it was the biggest disappointment. I got a replacement clear visor, and it's very transparent and distortions free. I'll probably take a chance on another tinted visor., since the helmet itself and the adjustment in the back is so nice.

The Pit Boss is my favorite half helmet due to its comfort and the ability to adjust it. When I wear my prescription glasses, I have no trouble with the dark visor, however, I can see where the visor could interfere with glasses with a larger frame.
I suggest you go to the dealer and try the helmet on with your glasses and test the visor.
As to optical clarity of the visor, I am surprised that Bell couldn't do better, but for me, it's tolerable.

I have had no issues with my Pitt Boss. The visor clears my glasses no problem and is distortion free. By the sounds of it the distortion is luck of the draw, some do and some don't. As for comfort it is the most comfortable helmet of the 4 I own.

Brought my Pit Boss in Sturgis last year. Was looking for a carbon fiber with the dark visor. No problems with my prescription glasses, but after a couple hundred miles it does start to hurt on the top sides of my head--reach up and move it a little and it's find for another hundred or so. Fits and feels great for the first couple hundred miles.

I like my Bell 500 3/4 a lot, fit is perfect and comfortable with either full clear visor (the old school bubble) or just sun visor. Problem is I don't like wearing a helmet all the time, and it won't fit in saddlebags. I like having a helmet with me for inclement weather especially. I assume the Pit Boss would fit in the saddlebag? (I'm also looking at the Rogue).

I bought a PIT BOSS last fall and have no problem with the shield and prescription glasses, the smoked shield really helps with the sun , keeps the sun from coming in from different angles where sunglasses wont cut it. The other thing I like about the PIT BOSS is the zip out neck curtain really nice for cooler weather riding. Nice helmet for sure.
