All,
Since I just finished the bars, I am looking at ideas for my phone to mount on the bars somewhere. I have a note 4. It is on the larger side of phone sizes.

- I was thinking next to the acc or cruise switch bank on the far right side before the bend with a mount, but the phone hits the tank. (I mocked it up.)

- I thought maybe horizontal above the gauges. Hits the clutch cable. (Might be able to tie back the clutch cable though...)

- I hate to have it on the grip area.

- Or just leave it in my pocket / belt clip and go bluetooth. (Buy a bluetooth converter and plug into the aux jack.)

- I tried a small MP3 player through the radio antenna. Not bad but I dont like to have it plugged into the cigarette lighter all the time.

I have the HD factory radio. I am thinking of doing an audio change in the future. I want to do other things first before I do audio. All I want to use the phone for is music.

Any other ideas / help?

I used to have an xgrip mounted on an iron aces mount for my iPhone. I used it for music and gps. One day when putting my phone in it, it just broke and flew apart, springs going everywhere. I have since installed a Bluetooth stereo and have a road tech zumo mounted on the iron ace. Much better, I should have done it from the start.

I might get a mount in the future in case I want to use my phone as a gps. Then I would need to see it. Besides that, I can leave it clipped on my hip.

I have the iPhone 6+ which is pretty big as well and the iron aces mount is working well for me. If you decide to go with one of theirs, they are good about helping you get the right cradle for your phone. With a big screen it makes sense to get the mount so you can use the gps on it also.
Good luck!

I went to their site at lunch and I like the x mount. Curious if it works with my phone. I will do more searches. Thanks for the idea!

I almost got the x mount but they have one specifically designed for my phone that looks a little cleaner and I got it. I figured I will probably go through a case or 2 while I have this phone so the cradle designed for the phone without a case woks for me. I would imagine they have one specific to yours as well.

Hope it works out for you.

Has anyone tried the quad lock case? I was googling and found it. It looks pretty good, I just don't know. Haven't seen one up close.

I cut the ball off of the windshield suction mount that came with my GPS and screwed it onto a piece of steel so i could use the ram mount on the GPS, that way I can adjust the GPS screen for the best view. I cut down a couple nylon spacers that came with a tv mount for the house and pretty much followed the instructions that iron aces give out for their mount.

I like to use the GPS because i found that lots of time in the country, i lose phone signal and the gps on the phone become worthless.

I tried the gps on my gas cap lid mount for a while, but I like the gps mounted higher, so i can still see the road easy.
