When installing a different set of slip on mufflers, should the motor be run at idle for a couple of minutes to allow the mufflers to "seat" in the correct position before tightening all the bolts and clamps?
I just loosened the clamps and tapped the old ones off with a rubber mallet so I didn't ruin them for resale then installed new clamps with the new slipons. I lined them up where I wanted them and cranked down the new clamps. Never had any problems
