Biggest Rushmore Improvement Over Pre-Rushmore Bikes???

Handling is largely improved first and foremost. The wethead definitely pulls harder as opposed to the previous 103. Not as noticeable when comparing the air cooled HO to the previous 103 but still an improvement. Also, it seems that Harley stepped their game up as far as fit and finish is concerned.
I am currently on a 15 Ultra Limited coming off a 12 Road Glide custom.

2013 RGU to 2015 RG Special. Suspension/handling, linked brakes/better stopping, and longer power range during acceleration is what I noticed most. There is nothing I liked better on the 2013. I'm a happy Rushmore customer. :grin:

Never owned the pre Rushmore because there were too many little things that kept me from making the leap. Test rode a few though.

What I love about the Rushmore Road Glide:

Ergonomics. It fits right out of the box.
Vents in the fairing. Awesome!
Great lighting!
The addition of liquid cooling.
The ease of use on the bags.

Can't comment on the previous gens handling because the test rides were short. The Rushmore bike is amazing! It is planted in the curves and even two up I don't have to bother with the yellow cautionary speed limits reserved for semis and ill handling bikes.

I went from a 2013 to a 2015 CVO FLTRUSE. There are several improvements for me.
110 with a new exhaust and tune pulls way harder than my 103 with internal work, cams, exhaust, and tune.
The suspension, and way bike handled was a big improvement stock vs stock over my 2013. Still not as good as it could be, probably going with Ohlins.
The fit, finish, and quality is much improved, but again I moved up to a CVO.
Air management is much better with less buffeting, the vents are a nice improvement.
Wet head is nice, only complaint is where the vents are in the lowers, if you ride with feet on highway pegs the hot air exits right on your ankles, wish moco would have had some way with trap doors to change the location where the hot air exits.
All in all I am very happy with my 2015 Rushmore.

If I had to pick one it would be the heavier front end. They beefed it up pretty good.

Really? Your current bike is awesome! No way a new bike is even as close to good looking as what you are currently riding. Your not getting rid of it are you? This is Dave from Cypress. We rode out to Yankees a while back.

So I swapped with a buddy and rode 149 and 3090 up to yankees. Speeds well over 100 dragging boards through the corners at usually double recommended speed. I didn't feel like it was that much different than my '13 with my current setup. He had a Klockwerks shield. I felt like the wind management on mine with the madstad was better. Maybe a different shield would be different. I use the front brakes hard into corners to compress front forks hard for the turn. I didn't care for the linked brakes. I ride at a pretty high rpm when going fast. Again not that much difference for me. I do have a pretty well tuned '13 with a Bassani 2-1 and zippers A/C. We swapped back and ran the same route back and I felt like it was easier to be quicker on my bike (I'm sure because that is what I am used to). My point is I rode both very hard back to back and didn't notice that much difference. If I was happy with my bike (which I am) I wouldn't be interested in a new one.

I think they are great looking and when I am ready to get rid of mine I will happily pick up one.

Hey what's up Dave? I am thinking about getting rid of it. I'm in talks with BX Custom Designs (The Bike Exchange) in Gastonia, NC for them to build me a custom. If I pull the trigger, it will be on a Custom built Rushmore model. Almost got a lowly Streetglide last week!???

Moved from an 06, and this new bike ROCKS in comparison. Power, handling, fits me great with stock bars ans seat. The Stock LED headlights are something to behold, they are just fantastic!

The bags are great with the 1 handed operation, and even though the radios is not perfect, it is also a nice improvement over the old.

One other thing I noticed is the bike has that old harley cadence too, not quite a shovel, but a real nice sound at idle. It sounds like a harley.
