The BBB web site has some good rides. I hope to be there, have a reservation for a free room at the Hyatt Place, but that is sorta pricy if you are paying for it.

I was planning on riding the Pig Trail ride with a side trip into Oklahoma.

I wish we could meet up with you and attend the rally jimmyray but unfortunately I am scheduled to work that weekend. If that changes I will give you a holler.

Check out the attached link and just click on the area of the state you want to ride in and it will give you all kinds of info for rides, where to stop, etc. That is one of my favorite areas to ride and will cross my fingers that I can get out of working that weekend.

I live in the general area and coming from Houston some of the best riding in the Arkansas area can be had by taking a few out of the way roads along your meandering way.

Meander up to Talihena, OK and take Hwy 271 and Hwy 1 north; Hwy 1 few miles north will split from Hwy 271 and Hwy 1 becomes the Talihena Drive:

http://www.talimenascenicdrive.com/

And stay on the Talihena all the way into Mena or you will miss one of the best parts of the road.

Then in Mena, AR take hwy 71 north. About 8 miles north of Waldron, AR at a rest stop you will see Hwy 23 north. Take Hwy 23 north to Booneville, AR. At Booneville, AR turn right and follow Hwy 10 east to Havana, AR. At Havana turn left on Hwy 309 which will take you up and over Mount Magazine, the highest point in Arkansas:

Then continue north across the mountain on Hwy 309 and thru Paris, AR till you rejoin Hwy 23 north. At Ozark, AR if you have time to eat and like BBQ (which is better than anything I've got at BB&BBQ) I recommend:

I tend to like the ribs best there. Then continue up Hwy 23 which a few miles north of Ozark will become the PIGTRAIL:

The Pigtrail (Hwy 23) will lead you up to Eureka Springs, AR. Sometimes called "Little Switzerland." Eureka is nice esp for women; its too artsy fartsy for me but the ride there is what I enjoy the most.

Then there are several different ways back to Fayetteville for Bike, Blues and BBQ. None of the roads are bad.

If I were riding from the Houston area I'd probably try to stay a night or two along the way. There are rooms at the Queen Wilhemena Lodge, at Mt. Magazine Lodge and some nice Bed and Breakfast places at Eureka Springs. I'd have a reservation though during that time. One of the nice Bed and Breakfast in Eureka always scores points with females.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY TRAILS !!

I was going to do this ride, from the BBB Ride Maps page. Once I get around Fort Smith, just a side trip to roll the wheels into Oklahoma and back.

You do want to get up to Eureka Springs. The BBB ride maps have some that go there. It is really great riding around there. Take a ride up 23/187 to Beaver (there is a joke in there about riding and beavers ) and check out the bridge...

That's a one lane, wooden plank bridge. If you approach from the south (picture is looking south), you cannot see oncoming traffic so you take your chances. The planks run in the direction of travel, so trying to keep your front wheel straight can get "interesting".

Go check out the best bike by a Dam Site...

That is Beaver Dam. I never knew Beavers worked in concrete, wonder how their teeth hold up when gnawing down concrete trees.

I hope to be down sometime Friday, staying at the Hyatt Place in Rogers.

Baioed

Well My buddy and his OL bailed on me for going to BBB, He has a lot going on an just can't pull it off this year, so that being said, I don't know if anyone else will be heading out there and coming through centralish illinois or would like to meet up with me and OL somewhere along the route let me know, as of now I am going to ride the whole thing on Thursday the 27th, may stop at Lamberts in Springfield on the way through if time and my Butt allows us to. I put it out there for a few other buddies that may want to join me but I don't see anyone stepping up and coming along, bunch of "riders" AKA Bar hoppers. A couple people I know would go but they are farmers and wil likely be smack dabb in the middle of harvest at that point. Just thought I would throw it out there I already plan to meet up with jimmyray11349 in Fayyetteville that weekend sometimes.

+1 for the Talimena Drive and if you find yourself going through Talihen Oklahoma, "Pam's Hateful Hussy" diner serves up some good food in a "unique" atmosphere.

Good luck finding a room in Fayetteville, most were full two weeks ago. Springdale 8 miles up had a few left.

I have a room Wed and Thur in Fayetteville, then Friday and Saturday I am staying at my nieces home in Springdale:D

What OzarkHarleyGuy said. Went last year for first time - great rally. Going again this year rolling into town Thursday night. From Houston area as well.

Plan to do Pig Trail ride on Friday early and Eureka Springs on Saturday.

I am going to camp this year at fairgrounds. I stayed at a Marriott last year. If you have problems finding rooms can check a little north in Rogers - likely still have rooms. Other than that just need to call around.

I did rally last year on an '08 Ultra. This ear on my 2012 RG CVO. Can't wait.
