I purchased and installed this kit when Biketronics became a sponsor and offered this package. The kit was fairly easy to install, but there were a couple of shortcomings I personally ran into that I will list so you can be aware in case you run into the same. The 2 sided tape to mount the amp was garbage when I went to mount the amp, so I had to remove the original tape and replace it, the original inner fairing bolts that you will use to mount the amp support are too short so I replaced them with longer ones, there was 1 screw on each speaker that turned out to be too short. Mount the line level adapter on top of the fairing so you do not have to remove the complete fairing in case you have to adjust it. By on top I mean you can access it by removing the windshield and top vent to gain access. I had my bike flashed by the dealer to make it so I could listen to it and it sounds way better than stock but the AVC no longer works, depending on the source I am using the volume levels are very inconsistent and there is a DTC stored in the bike now when running a diagnostic. The music plays at such a high pitch that you can't turn it up much and there is no bass. This is my guess as to why you should not get a infotainment flash. Since my install, Biketronics has come out with a device to make it so you do not need a flash. I was sent 1 but have not had the time to install or get mine flashed back to stock, but I have heard that people are very happy with it. I hope I will be happy with it when installed. Overall it is a vast improvement over stock. Let me know if I missed anything you may have a question about. Good luck!

I have a '13 so the kit is not the same but the components are the same or similar. I am running the BT 2180 amp with their 6.5s in the lowers and their 7.1s in the fairing. It sounds good but I think I should have gone with their larger amp. This winter I will probably go with an alpine head unit and add a second amp or larger one and sell this one. Know that you don't have gain controls with the 2180 unless they have changed that. That was one thing I didn't like. I used industrial velcro to mount the amp. Has worked great for 20,000 miles.

I have that on my 2016. I had the same experience with the sound as BH#3. They sent me out the new BT-355 line leveler and it made a drastic improvement. The install was straight forward and easily accomplished. I too had the issue of the bracket bolts being too short and brought it up to their tech support. He said they have started sending longer bolts in the kit. All in all for the money it is well worth it in my opinion and the service after the sale was top notch.

The BT-355 made a big improvement but there was a lot of air movement from the pods to the point it created rattles and the air leaks sounded like distortion in the speakers. The speakers create quite a bit of pressure in the pods.

I made a few improvements that have mine sounding a lot better. First I re-used the stock speaker wire into the pods so I could take advantage of the stock grommet seal at the wire entrance. I made my own speaker wire from the amp to the stock speaker plug with a Molex connector from mouser electronics. If you talk to biketronics at the time of order you can probably get them to build you a true plug and play harness for a little extra.

The next thing I did was removed the screws from the speaker pods and opened them up so I could put some RTV on the seals to make them air tight. I left the drain hole in the bottom and used a foam ear plug to seal the hole instead of RTV so I could drain water if I ever needed to.

The next issue was air leaking through the aluminum speaker rings. I used weatherstrip/caulking cord on the bottom of the speaker rings pressed thin to seal the ring to inner fairing and ran another strand on the backside of the speaker itself to seal it to the ring.

Last I added some loosely packed polyfill to the bottom half of the speaker pod which seamed to help the sound a little.

Do ypu have any pictures of how you did the foam placement. Perhaps it will make more sense when i crack the bike open, but in prefer to only do it once

Install is complete. I didn't use any foam or polyfill and it sounds great. I did however seal the pods. Got everything buttoned up, took her for a ride down the hwy at 80 and it still performed. The test will be with momma on it.

The only thing I noticed was one of my turn signals isn't working. Not sure it that happen before or after the mod. Might have to tear the fairing off again

I couldn't help myself so I pulled the fairing. It so much easier than my streetglide. The turn signal connector has a loose wire in it on the side closest to the headlight. I can wiggle it and it flickers. Warranty work soon to come

My right side turn signal has a loose connection also. I thought that I may have screwed it up, so I zip tied it. Looks like I'm not the only one.
