Does anyone have the part number for the black engine guard that fits a 2009? I know that the MOCO sells them but I can only find the part that doesn't fit the FLTR.

Might be worth it to find a powdercoater in Hawaii. By the time you pay for it and ship it over, might be more cost effective to powdercoat it yourself.

KrashKartz, that might be worth it, but I was rear eneded about two months ago and the crash bar did what it was suppose to and took one for the rest of the bike. I do however need a new one.

Not sure if you got your guard yet, but DirtBag Cycles in Concord, CA has a powdercoated crash bar for $150. Not sure what it would cost to ship to HI.

+1. I paid 50 bucks to have mine done... and if I ever wanted a chrome one again you can pick them up in the classified section of most Harley forums for around 100 bucks.

I would have much rather saved the coin and just had mine powder coated, but it was bent to hell after I was hit. I ordered on from the deal and it came in about a week. $0 shipping since the dealer ordered. I guess they get you back with the price tag they put on it.

Related, but off topic question. I want to start powder coating some other parts. How much can I expect to pay? I have heard that it is all relative based on how much you want done. I am looking at small parts (from turn signals and levers). I also would like to get the heat shields and mufflers ceramic coated.

My powdercoater quoted me $35 each to have my forks done. I figure about $10 for each small parst based on the price for the forks. Also, you get a better deal when you bring in more than one piece at a time, as they can do most of the parts in one session rather than do the whole process with each part. I plan on bringing in approx. 18 pieces so hopefully I can get a great deal. Black of course
