Okay for the guys who have blacked their bikes out. I picked up a new dash and its at the powder coaters, the tour pak bracket is there also. While at the local dealer this past week I saw a 2010 SE Ultra and it had the rear turn signals blacked out so I order that setup but for the other chrome stuff did you guys get it powder coated or find black parts to replace the chrome? I don't mind doing the leg work for the powder coating but I just don't want the bike down during prime riding season.

He has an ebay store (sorry don't know the link) with various powdercoated and blacked out parts. Also at one point he was buying parts to black out. Could be a good source for both getting parts and getting rid of the parts your replacing.

Just for sh*ts and giggles I searched for voodoo041672 on Ebay and there he was so I ordered a set of blacked out forks and beer cans. If anybody else is looking for black out parts here the link to him on Ebay

I bought my forks from VooDoo, and an aircleaner cover. He used to come to the forums, but haven't seen him in a long time.
I'm like you, don't want my bike down for any amount of time. I've found its cheapest, to buy chrome parts someone else has taken off, and just paint them myself. Then swap out on my bike. Or lately, I've been watching the weather, and when we have a bad day or two in the forecast, take my parts off and paint them. That way I don't have a bunch of chrome parts that came off my bike sitting around.

I take the parts that dont get hit directly with bugs and other crap, (like the signal light buckets and rear tail light assembly, dash etc.) 1) Take Prep all and wipe the part down. Let it dry 2) Spray a few coats of SEM black primer on and let dry. 3) Spray with gloss black. If not shiny enough clear coat it. Done, costs about $20 bucks and you can black out everything that you want with a single can.
PS: the SEM black primer is a dead ringer for Denim Black. Painted my whole tour pak with it, and people think it is Denim

There is only a few hours down time with this way and you can return the parts to chrome later by wiping the paint off with prep all. I painted my highway bars, rear taillight assembly, signal light buckets and dash this way with no problems after 3 months and several washes. Cheap and easy.
