This question is for those of you who have blacked out your RG/RGU, especially those of you who DIDN'T strip the bike down yourselves (i.e., you took it to a shop/dealer to do): Approximately how much did the process cost you? I'm obviously looking to black out the majority of chrome items on my Shark, and I'm trying to get an idea of how much I need to budget for the process.

With winter now here in Michigan, I figure it's the perfect time to start the process. I've already done some of the minor pieces that don't require disassembling the engine, and I know some of it will have to be done by a local shop because my wrench-fu isn't up there like it seems to be with a lot of you. Thanks again for the advice.

To minimize down time i bought a set of fork lowers that were take off's for $50 on ebay. I then took my handle bars, brake levers, mirrors, detachable sissy bar, and forks to a local powder coater and was charged $210 total. I then bought a set or Arlen Ness fork uppers and took the bike to a local independent HD service shop and was charged $200 to swap out the forks upper and lowers.
