So I feel ashamed I don't know the answer to this but here it goes

I have a Head-unit, Ipad and a GPS - Question is can I have all three connected and work with my Clarion CZ302 head unit?

The goal is to have the music going and the GPS lower the music to give the directions, I am hoping that the gps wont respond to the hand controls if I want to lower or raise the volume, or switch songs.

Second question if I have the radio set to use the USB port (in cases I am not using the Ipad) can I still connect the gps via bluetooth and it still lower the volume for directions.. Hoping it doesn't have to be set on that input..

Thanks in advance

They will work but the volume will not be muted or go lower when directions are coming from the GPS. My GPS has a MP3 player built in and it works the way you want it to, but your radio must be in the Aux input mode for this to work the way you want.

You can buy the J&M bluetooth device to do exactly what you want but it is no where near worth the $599 price. It is very sporadic at best.

What model and year is your bike?

What model GPS do you have?

Both important questions to know if you are looking for info.

Do you have a USB connector or an Auxiliary Input port? Year of bike would tell us that.

Do you mean IPad or IPod?

Ok messed with it for about 2 hours just isn't going to happen.. May need to rethink this..

Tried connecting the gps to the ipad then the ipad to the radio that didn't work.

Then connecting the GPS to the radio that didn't work

Then GPS to the Ipad and then Ipad to the radio using the USB port

If all else fails I may scratch the GPS and make a filler piece where the Speedo used to go and get the Magellan or map-quest app for the Ipad .. Nothing can just work like it does in my head LMAO!

Not sure if this will help or not, but here is what I have put together.

GPS: Garmin Zumo 665 with XM and 16g SD Card filled with MP3 files
Headset: J&M Bluetooth built into my helmet.
Phone: iPhone 5 hanging on my belt in an Otterbox Defender Case
Radio: Sony, but irrelevant as I only use it for a Clock now.

I run everything thru the Garmin. I have it mounted on the handlebars, near the left hand grip. It has XM and an MP3 Player, and with 16 gigabytes available, plenty of music.

I listen only thru the Helmet headset now. Much easier to hear than the speakers. The Garmin does go into the Aux input on the radio, but I only use it when working in the garage.

I can listen to music, listen to GPS Directions (often it seems to say "recalculating"), place and receive phone calls, all thru one device via Bluetooth.

The Garmin is the controller. The iPhone is paired to the Garmin, as is the J&M Headset. The only thing I do on the headset is volume control. The Garmin has the means to dial the phone, answer the phone, display who's calling from the phone, browse the phone's directory. If I really wanted to, I suppose I could play music from the phone, but I don't keep music on the phone. The Garmin is the music controller. It can play from XM, MP3s or even Audio Books stored on the SD Card.

The only thing I used the radio for is a clock, and the next time I have to take the fairing off, the Sony is coming out and the HD Harmon Kardon Radio is going back in (as soon as I move the Aux jack to the back of the HK Radio). It is a much better clock display. For those who may not know it, the HD Harmon Kardon is NOT a clock, it is just the display/control for the Bike's clock. Once I removed the HK Radio, the clock appeared in my odometer display. Much easier to see and control thru the Radio than that single Odometer button.
