Question for you all. Looking for some info on the "locust/cicada" noise I'm getting from my front brakes. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what were some on the fixes? My fiancé said shes always heard the noise but I haven't. And I worry about the smallest little noises lol. I've read that a few people have had it and went to the dealership and they say it's normal. Just trying to get some input from others. Thanks in advance.

No it happens usually above about 10 mph. And when I use the front brake it gets louder and when I release the brake it gets quieter. I'm not sure if it's always done it or not because I wasn't playing my radio yesterday when I noticed it. I think I may try and change the pads and see if that works.

It could be making noise because the pads may be glazed. Pull the pads and check the brakes. If the pads are good but have a glazed surface then you can use a fine sandpaper to scuff them up to remove the glaze. Also use some brake silicone lubricant on the backs of the pads and on the caliper and pins. Do not get any on the pad surface

I have this too - had it across pad changes as well.

Question - do you have Agitators? Seems to me this showed up after I bought used Agitators that came with Harley floating rotors.

A couple dealers have test ridden it after service, they all say its normal.

But then again my engine could be missing a jug and they'd say its norma.
