You guys were right on with these Road 6 customs apes. 13".

Total time involved from pulling the dash to popping in the Chrome horseshoe. 1 hour 20 minutes. I'd absolutely suggest these bars to anyone looking to get apes. And have a budget. Not everyone will drop 450 for a set of bars.

Thanks for the tip guys. And I know. No pics. It didn't happen.

Looks like it happened. I take it, the chrome horseshoe is the last step in the process. Bars look great! Good job. Did you use the Malo 47 video as a guide?

Yes. Slipping in the horseshoe in is the last step.

The best info I got from the video was getting that damn button off. Lol.

The bar install is pretty straight forward. I've done a few of them. The Roadglides are a dream compared to the batwing.

Bars look good! Love that bass boat flake paint!
I'm not a fan. But I'll say it looks better with the black bars. I'm trying to get him to black it out. I have my whole front end off my 16 we can send to powder coat.

He bought that bike cause it was the last one at the dealer he could afford. The other 5 Roadglides were 3 CVOs and 2 RGS that had a lot of add ons. Price on the was 33k.

Like the bars. Needing to be budget minded from my other thread asking what bars to get. He can't afford to do shit really.

I gave him my headpipe that we gutted and my BIL gave him some screaming eagle slip ons. I also had a set of grips I gave him. I'll give him my front end parts. He just has to pay for powder coat. I'll install it all free. Ya don't charge family.

We'll see. He says he's done. Either way. He's happy as shit. So I am happy for him.

His old lady. The one that said he could afford it, (the bike) then told him to return it. Complained the pipes aren't loud enough, why did I take so long to get there yesterday (I go to the gym every Sunday morning) and why wasn't I done yet..

I just may pay for the powder coating myself. >:)

When you did the install, did you remove the ignition switch? As for the button, is that the one on the left handlebar control. I finally received my F47 bars and now waiting for the weather to warm up as it is still winter up north here and my garage is not insulated. When I bought my bike, I went looking to get the same colour but they were sold out and ended up getting the Hard Candy Gold which I'm glad I got.

No. Remove the Chrome horseshoe and turn the ignition to acc. Cluster slips right over.

Ya the button is the trip set button. Pain in the ass. But with patience and pressure it popped off.

I'm growing to like that paint. But not thinking I'd get it for me. But hey. I hate black bikes and look. I have a black bike. Lol.

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. Everything I owned used to black, truck and softail. I figured I try a diiferent colour this time around. Love the gold flake, I get tons of compliments. The wife was sceptical until she saw it and changed her tune. Unfortunately that option cost me extra $. I put a Corbin seat and Supersox on as well. Happy wife happy life. :D

I will be doing my Highway 47 install this coming weekend so I have to ask. What is the secret to getting that horse collar off? I have the CVO and have read so many threads but still haven't figured it out. Or is there a video that actually shows how to get the collar off? If there is a video can you supply a link?

I have to admit. Those bikes in the sun really pop. No denying that. And on a scale of 1 to 10 for being different. Ya. It's a 10 to me. Did you post any pics of it here? I went with the Copper and Black anniversary edition in 08. Just to do something different. Was glad I did. I did get tired of the fucking copper top comments. One guy lol, he about shit himself. Didn't know me at all. Laughs and says it's the battery guy. I looked at his wide glide with the factory flame job and said ya. Because flames are really fucking original. Know your audience. I kinda felt bad.

Easiest way to explain it is sit on the bike. The part of the horseshoe that's closest to you needs to be popped up. Straight up. Don't try to just slide it back. It won't move.

But once you pop it up tilt the front points down and it comes right out. When you get it out. You'll see why you have to tilt it. Two loops that go over two tabs.
