Good Morning Gents!

Im about a month in and about 2600 miles on my 15 RG,,, thus far the only mod ive done is 4" Reinhardt slip-ons.... I know the old story of do A/C or pipes, no tuner needed. Do both and you need to tune.
So ive got a Kury. Mark 2 A/C and a Power vision tuner coming. The A/C will be here friday, the tuner not till tuesday.

Can i run the A/C with the slip-ons without the tuner? Im still running stock head pipe so im really not sure if the slip-ons make that much of a difference that i would need the tuner just yet.

Please advise.

Thanks,Mike

I woulld wait. These suckers are so lean already. More air, more lean. When I had my Street Glide, I tuned it with a TTS, Cooled that mother right down. When I took the head pipe off and put on a catless header tuned it again. same story.

The slip-ons aren't making much of a difference at all with the stock head pipe. He's right about how lean the bikes are stock, but this is NOT a powerhouse engine by any means. You're pushing between 69-77 HP stock. Riding with a factory tune for three days isn't gonna make any difference whatsoever.

You can ride it, just don't hammer it. I have V&H power duals with 3 1/2" Rineharts and a FuelMoto/K&N intake. I had a problem with my tuner (broken wire) on the way home from Sturgis. Removed the tuner completely and finished the last 550 miles home. Easy 75mph cruise with no hard launches. Bike ran just fine. Not as much power and I could sorta feel the lean spots but no reliability issues at all.

As long as you don't take up outlaw bagger street racing in the few days between putting in the A/C and tuning it, that is.

thanks guys,,, you know how it is when the new toys show up. It will actually be just a one day ride ,maybe 300 miles. Ill put the A/C on and see how she runs, if i dont think its good i can always go back to stock for the day.
