Anyone using any type of thread sealer when putting drain plugs back in?
I will use a small bit of pipe thread tape or the liquid stuff but I've found that if you just put a new O-ring on and tq to spec it's all you need. The thread sealer is just an extra piece of mind but not really necessary.

I use neither. Been using the same 0 ring for years with out leakage. I change em only when the need it, by looks and feels.

You're correct. For years I never changed O rings with no issues. I recently bought a supply off of Ebay, so now I change them. I just made work for myself.

on mines always put new o-ring and a round of liquid teflon for peace of mind.
I do a lot of attention on torquing the plug because had one loose when my Dyna was serviced by HD because new under warranty. Never saw me again at that dealership......

I was using teflon tape too, but have since stopped using it. I use a new O-ring on every service.
