After 4 years of listening to the noise of my Thunderheader Pipe I have decided to give up the performance and go with a quitter setup. I have chosen the S&S power tune exhaust pipe but am thinking about Supertrapp tunable mufflers. Will I be able to get close to the same performance with this setup or is it a lost cause? My Glide is a 2008 FLTRI with Woods 5-6 cams and a SE air cleaner. Thanks for any input.

I've run a Supertrapp 2 into 1 for many years. In my experience working for dealerships and independent shops which included dyno tuning, The Supertrapps always outperformed the thunderheader, especially at low to mid rpm.

Are those S&S a true dual? If so you'd be better off with a Fullsac DX or a V&H Power Dual head pipe and then use the Supertrapp muffs. The "X" pipes are a 2 into 1 into 2, and make excellent power, better than the TH. The ST muffs can be tuned and your ears will thank you.

is there no such thing as a quieter baffle for the thunder header? I know a lot of us have a desire to not be the center of attention sometimes.
Nope... the unique baffle and design of it is welded into the pipe... there is no changing it... and I love it!

I have a Supertrapp 2:1 on my 100" FXR. I like it. Qieted it down to acceptable levels.
I also ran SE Fatshots (Supertrapp) on my 09 RG. I liked them. Quiet until you got on them.

Just took my Thunderheader off and installed a Dragula 2. Idling and cruising a lot more mellow. Get on it and it will talk but to me not as much as the TH did.
Changed mind for the performance gain.
