Can I see if compansator is bad? I took the outer primary off to change the chain adjuster and the compansator, before I take the inner off,The compansator looks good,no marks on it and infact looks just like the new one,the chain is not tight as a string and the adjuster bearly has any marks on it.my question is can I see damage?I noticed a clunk when I shut off bike and have 50,500 miles, thats why I decided to change to begin with.

You really need to separate the compinsator to see damage on the inside. If it's not causing a problem when starting , I personally wouldn't worry about it.
