I am on the verge of having a custom seat cover made by my local upholstery guy. I'm considering a Gator Skin material. Have any of guys had this type of material on a seat before? If so, does it hold up with long term use?

A coworker had gator skin added to his 2017 Road Glide and had it dyed purple to match the purple paint. While I'm not a purple kind of guy, his bike looks good and that seat came out awesome. It's just the stock seat that he reupholstered and it looks great on his bike. I have a pair of gator boots that I bought back in 1998 - 20 years ago! They have been re-soled, but the gator skin holds up well. So does Stingray.

From what I know about gators, they live a pretty rough life, in and out of water, if their skin works for them, I'm pretty sure your ass ain't gonna hurt it.
