I had bought this kuryakyn touring shield on impulse, 2nd day after I got the bike duhh... My intention at the time was to look thru it and couldnt of picked a worse shield. Its tinted and very distorted. It was either trade/sell it or make it to fit me. So I found a diy on the internet and went at it. I had my wife hold the level to my chin and it came out to be approx. 10" from the shelf of the speedo. Took some tape and did some radius lines with a string and then started to connect some dots. I knew it was going to be tough to cut around the concave part of shield so I made sure I bought an extra long jig saw blade..fine wood/plastic blade. Cut went ok, the diy said use a medium file to smooth..useless.. I took my orbital sander 200 grit and got the shape out, and went up to another to get it smoother. I finished it off with a 400 grit wet/dry paper by hand. Overall not bad for a first attempt. kuryakyn offers a sport shield but I thought it was too small. I dont have one to compare to but from the pics its approx 4" wider and 2" taller from my modified one to kuryakyn sport shield, but I could be wrong:). The test ride was great, definitely a step up from my klock werks 8". I attached a few pics, thanks

thanks, definitely more coverage than the 8" KW I had on prior.. that would hit me in the sides of my face. When I tested this I had it up to 80mph to get the approx same amount of buffet I had with the KW at 60mph. Overall happy with the outcome. Im definitely getting more educated on the windshields reading thru these threads. So far Ive got it narrowed down to a clearview/clear or windvest/clear for a see thru windshield.
