Well folks just saw and sat on the Latest 2011 CVO Road GLide and I must say it's very NICE!!!!!! Black 2 Tone and it's down at The Biloxi HD, in Biloxi, MS

It's definitely a sweet Bike, only problem with it they want $ 40,000 US for it and as my wife said, for a few buck more she could get herself a nice BMW.

Guess they are asking a 5,000 premium on this bike :) since MSRP is 35,000

I was checking out the new 2011 RG Ultra at my local dealer today ... damn nice bike. If you were a "crome" guy the only thing you need to do is find a seat and shield you like ... EVERYthing else is done ...

No way I could swing 35k + for a ride but its a nice bike for sure.

Saw a CVO RGU today myself. It was the Charcoal Slate/Black Twilight. Guy had it out on a test ride and I waited until he got back to take a look at it. Sweet looking bike but way out of my budget.

Saw the Charcoal Slate one Yesterday

Make mine the Charcoal Slate CVO, saw it at the Dealer and it is THE color (IMO). Now, about that $35k....................

Not in this lifetime.

Let Me Defend the CVO cost. I bought mine for 31K. I have added GPS, tour Pak (with detachable mounts, lighted spoiler, custom paint,LED light bar), lights, wind shields, power commander with auto tune, heavy breather, hammock seat, J&M speakers. Exhaust change soon to come. I have a 110 engine and a Paint job that I LOVE! I love my bike and like many of the comments I have read, I initially said I would NEVER pay 30K for a Bike, but I bought a rocker for 19K and put 8K in prior to my trade, 27K for an education on what I really wanted in a motorcycle. I will quit rambling BUT, 1) I know there are several Bikes on this forum with more than 35K invested and counting. 2) Try and build or upgrade to all the components on an Ultra or CVO and see how much it cost. 3) I Never agree with Dealer mark-ups. 4) CVO bikes are not for everyone, the beauty of this forum Is to see the diversity in the road glides. While I cant justify the cost of my bike, I always had the feeling that every one on this forum felt that that their bike and the experience of riding a road glide was PRICELESS!

Yikes !!....that some serious money...for that kind of money, Kayla would twist my arm to buy a Yellow or Purple Hemi Challenger !!:)
....... for less than that kind of money i'd buy the RGU, take it apart & paint it yellow ! ..... i'd have the ride i want & not have to polish all that chrome !
............... yeah, i know..... i'd have to paint it after installing the spoiler light bar, LED TP bar, 'X' rear fascia and bag extensions, but i'm not gonna sweat the little stuff.

I've owned 3 CVO's prior to the purchase of my 2009 FLTR. 1) 2001 FLTRSEI2- 2) 2-2005's FLHTSE2's. My first Roadglide was my first CVO purchase. That bike stickered for 23,995. Next two, were over 60,000 combined! I will DEFEND to a certain degree. Martinsburg, you have the BEST lookn CVO that harley has BUILT! PERIOD! IMO, that Silver w/gray is FREAKN AWESOME!I dont like Silver but thats just me! 2011 has brought some KILLER stuff to the table. I've not seen any in person yet but, the BLACKED OUT Motor kit on the 2011 Street Glide is bad azz! IMO the taupe color on the motor RUINED the looks of the 2009 CVO Roadglides w/ Orange and Black, and Yellow bikes. For 30,000 bucs? No-Way! The Siver 2009 CVO Roady, is Bad (was bad) considering it is 2 Years old now. The Motor needed to be Black and chrome on the other two! Yey, it cost MONEY to catch up to what a CVO has. I'll pay it, as long as its done RITE! IMHO,... I had a 103 cu." motor on the 2-2005's, I DONT MISS IT! The 96" motor has PLENTY of power and the 103's were hot as a FIRECRACKER on the Road. Its alway nice to have a couple or to 3 more inches, but if ya want it that bad do that RITE and build it yourself! Martinsburg has put some X-TRA Cash in his 2009, WE ALL DO! I've put 8-G's in my 2009 FLTR, and I aint done yet! The one BIG thing w/a CVO is that when ya go and try to duplicate,... IT CANT BE DONE! The Motor Co. knows US like a BOOK! It would be nice to be able to tell them what we would want in a motorcycle,... a CVO w/this and that,... a FLTR w/that and this! Bottom line,... to each his own, TREAT PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED! If ya buy a CVO your gonna have (I would have) Mo-MONEY in it from the GET-GO! To do it rite in my book its gonna take 8 to 10,000 bucs either way. CVO model or a regular ole Joe, straight out of the box. IMHO! If ya want to start out by paying an x-tra 5,ooo thats o.k. to!

No need to defend the cost... I am sure most of us deep down would like to be able to pull the trigger on one, but there is a lot to be said for building your own. No matter what we pay out the door, there is more money to be spent "making our rides our own". Enjoy your ride, bottom line "ride and have fun".

Thanks Neano, Rowdy. For the last year I have been building my road glide ultra CVO. I did not start off wanting silver and chrome but I am ALL IN now! I don't see a color I like better than My Silver SERG. I DO NOT like the absence of the filler panels, LED lights and extended Bags! My additional cost to date make my bike similar to the 2011 upgrades, BUT adding or building up to the same CVO accessories cost twice as much!

The biggest plus,.. you will have a one of a kind bike and there won't be another one like it on the road.

personally i don't need all the bling,i ride my bike in all weather conditions.my 09 suits me just find.to me owning a bike is all about riding and not making a fashion statement!!!!!!!!!
....... i can understand this re: the CVO, i wouldn't wanna have to shine all that stuff, but the RGU, ..... when i point that fairing toward the left coast, i'd use every bit of the stuff that it comes with.
....... though i'd prob'ly like to change out the lower glove boxes for speaker pods.

You may be the only one on this forum that looks down at his bike and does NOT care what it looks like. The largest threads on this forum reflect the modifications and customizations of road glides. Some are performance mods,MOST are cosmetic! The thought that riding a Harley, or a Road Glide or whatever you chose does not refect a sense of style is bullshit!!!!!!!!!!

ibought a bike to RIDE,i assure you that i don't(as you say look down on my bike).i chose the road-glide because i wanted a bike to do serious traveling and not to have cute little bar hopper.before you past judgement on anyone, you should know them.yep,i'm probably an old fart, but i've been riding for over 45 years.i been to every state in this great country on everything from a panhead(Rigid) to my o9 road-glide.i keep my bikes always maintained and clean i'm not afraid if getting it wet or dirty.thank god there's still some guys out there that do serious riding.the average miles put on bikes is about 2500 miles annually, believe me i far exceed that.which one are you?????????????

Thanks!

I agree, that is not what this forum is supposed to be about. We all have our opinions and respect them for what they are-ours! To each their own. Personally, I had NEVER put more than probably three thousand miles on a bike before the Road Glide. I am proud as hell that in the past year I put over ten thousand miles on my '09. Now I know that is not alot to some of you guys, but as I said before, it really doesn't matter either. I just know that my wife and I are having a BLAST! It reminds me of a story that a fiend told me once. It seems he was in a public restroom at a urinal and a guy leaned over and asked him who he planned to satisy with that thing. He simply responded - ME! Now ain't that what it's all about? :)
