First a shout out to members UT_Larry and RFG7680 for their advice in getting to this point of finding a comfortable seat that works for me. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input.

Some background. I'm 6' - 260#, 32" inseam. '13 road glide, 11" Freedom sport touring shield.

Like a lot of others, I've been down the road of trying to find a seat that works for me. I prefer a firm but not hard seat. I also like a seat that sits you down and back on the bike. Went from the stocker to a LePera Aviator and deluxe pillion. LePera makes a quality product and the seat definitely sits you down and back. It also offers good lower back support. The Aviator is 13" wide and looked great on the bike and worked great for short trips. It just didn't work for me for an all day, long distance seat.

After doing a lot of reading on this forum, I decided to go with a 2012 Road Glide CVO solo and pillion, part #'s 52000042 & 52400024 respectively, and also the fender strips #11100024. I ordered from Horney Toad HD in Texas from PC Pain Jon (no longer there, Jessica is his replacement) for a great price. The CVO saddle is 15" wide. Received the seat and pillion and was pleased with how the seat felt, but knew it was too cushy for my liking. I sent the seat to Astech on a Thursday and received it back by the following Thursday. Great folks to deal with! They did their gel and memory foam process to the seat. I had no extra shaping done to the seat. It is definitely firmer, but not hard. They re-do the seat based on your weight. Check out their Youtube video.

We rode to Thunder Beach at Panama City this past week. It's 620 miles each way. On the way down, we rode 420 the first day and 200 the second. For the return trip, we did the 620 in one day. I carried an Airhawk just in case, but never had to use it.

Seating is very subjective, but the CVO solo with the Astech modification worked very well for me.

You?re welcome. Sorry it took so many tries to find the right seat for you. You?re right seats are very subjective & what works for one person may not work for another. Also two seats from the same manufacturer & same model can work or not for the same person. I had two stock seats first was comfortable second I couldn?t stand, both were new.

I got the same cvo seat. I like it but have been thinking about getting it modified for a little more comfort. Might have to check that company out.

Glad it worked out. I have 7k on my seat now. I like a soft seat. Which this is to a T. But I think it breaks down kinda quick. I appreciate you taking time to review this. I think I will be looking into getting this.
