I had a little free time Wednesday afternoon and got the D&D Fat Cat exhaust put on and the Banana boards. The D&D sounds awesome on the Stage V tire shredder engine but my gawd is it loud and I mean LOUD. I have named the bike Thunder and trying to find a quite baffle because its way to loud to ride. I rode her home Wednesday afternoon and back to work Thursday morning but I am sure my neighbors are pissed when I left at 2:30 AM, I tried to be very gentle on the throttle and just idle out of the neighborhood but my wife who was still in bed said she could her the bike for a very long time after I left the house. So, until I can get a quite baffle Thunder is parked. I had a V&H Pro Pipe on the old Road Glide and I didn't think it was loud but the guy across the street did and would call the cops on me in the mornings when I arrived at the shop, thank god he moved because I know he would have called the cops on me with this one on for sure. Just a side note, man I love D&D's quality, this is the third D&D exhaust I have had and their quality is hands down the best out there.

Their wrapped baffle takes a little of the edge off but it's really not that much quieter. I have the Boarzilla and it is even louder than my Fatcat was. I went to a local indy a bought some muffler wrap but when I pulled the baffle I found that it was enclosed in a metal tube so I couldn't wrap it unless you cut it open. I just stuck it back in and have gotten used to it. Some little foamy earplugs work great. My riding buds say that it hurts if I get on it when they are next to me. Guess I'll keep it like it is just for that reason.

I actually bought it off a local dealer that had purchased it for a customer then they backed out and I got a helluva deal but it is the unwrapped baffle, but with that being said I called D&D today and have a wrapped baffle on the way. I had the wrapped baffle on my old 103 with S&S 585 cams engine and it was actually pretty quite but everybody is telling me its not going quieten down the 110 much.

Car alarms going off when you go past is a sign of them cheering you on! It's like starting up the Fatcat at 5:30 a.m. to head off to work and the neighbor gives you a 1 finger salute. Or it could have been a thumbs up too, it was kinda dark out. All kidding aside, that exhaust is awesome, enjoy the build and the D&D.

Lol - I know that only too well. I have to report in at 0700 hrs and leave home at 0600. If it wasn't for the 50ft uphill road I'd push my bike...but really, I'd like my Glide to sound like a 60s muscle-car more than a home built dune-buggy! :D
So new slip-ons are on order!
