Looking at one. Anybody own one, or had one? Danny Gray long haul xl. Upside. Looks good, leather seat, nice seating position for me. The downside, some say they are too hard, uncomfortable for long rides.

I had one on a 98 Bad Boy and it was perfect. I bought one for the 17 Road Glide and while it looked like a million bucks, it was just way uncomfortable for me, so it's gone. I'm using a solo Mustang wide solo with the small passenger pad now, as well as a Harley Tall Boy that was modified by Mean City Cycles for long trips. They don't look as good as that Danny Gray, but I can ride pain free with both.

Thanks, I've read that a lot. Really like the look, the lower seating position. I'm trying to get my wife on to the back, the stock seat on my 18 RG was impossible for her. I bought a backrest, need a seat, my dealer has a sundowner demo I'm going to try, a lot of people like the Hammock. The Hammock will move me up, not sure I like that idea.

I do not know about the Danny Grey seats. But I recommend LePera which I went with. They have several different styles. Excellent reviews on the forum, which is why I chose them.

Which LaPera, was it a touring seat? How did it affect your riding position? Have you used it all day, sorry for so many questions.

Try the tallboy seat, too. I'm 5' 11" and it's the ticket for me.

I have had a couple of Danny Gray seats and I give them a solid OK. Look good but not the most comfortable. I even had one with the air hawk in it and it was only OK. I'm a Corbin guy. Don't get hung up on a seat being too hard. Corbin is probably the hardest seat out there but it's the most comfortable for me.

I had a Danny Gray Long Haul XL on my 2012 RG. It was a great seat. Sat on it from Ohio to Sturgis a couple of times. I had no complaints about it. My wife liked it also. Great quality and comfortable, plus it looked awesome on the bike. I didn't have another seat to swap it with when I traded the bike in or I would still be using it.

I put one on my 2011 Road Glide Ultra at the end of last year. Haven't logged a ton of mile on it but I really like it so far. Drops me lower and make me feel more in the bike as compared to on it. It is firmer than the stock seat but seats that feel softer in the beginning are a pain after a good day of riding.

The one I got is a LePera Monterey solo touring with rider backrest and the large pillion, Two sizes to choose from. Custom in full leather and gel insert. I have posted an in depth review in an older thread. Sits you back and down. Great for all day. The gel insert not recommended for areas like Los Vegas.
