This summer I switched out bars and added harleys heated grips. Went up into Canada the next day, rained hard at night, cool in the morning, kicked the heat on the grips, after an hour or two of riding the throttle felt weird. I let go of the throttle and the engine stayed at the same rpm. It stays where ever you put it. Its been that way since and I hope it stays that way and I won"t have to buy the cruise control. When I had the T.G.S. out of the bars I was wondering how to disable the spring but figured I would end up sacrificing the sensor so I left it alone. Still got luckey and loving it.

Mine did that for a while after I switched out bars. I didn't like it. Luckily it has freed up with more miles.

Make sure the throttle(grip) is not pushed to far toward the controls. This could cause it to not return. You should have some play between the grip & control housing.
