Dropped it right in front of me as I was walking out to pick it up from Service.
- Just had the gheaders and pipes done.

- The "porter" went over right in the lot.

- 2 other porters were there right away and the Asst Service Mgr ran over.

- To his credit, he said "whatever is broken or scratched we will repair or replace." So its both left side engine guards - AND - I knew the bars were going to be torqued loose as I watched him fight it on the way down - sure enough - they will be disassembling to get to the risers/pins and will repair.

- So this is a first...54 miles on it. Brand new CVO Road Glide. Can't make this up.

- Oh - no - the porter did not apologize - but his supervisor did and said he wld reprimand the porter.

Damnit. DOOF

Man that blows. At least they are going to make it right. Are they going to provide a loaner to you while they are making the repairs? I know I would expect/demand one.

Are you planning to get different bars? Might be a good opportunity get a DEEP discount on the bars and free labor to install them.
Well.. Sir I had not considered that. But u certainly bring up a great point. I'll think on that after I pull myself down off the ceiling.

Better them than you. I second the suggestion to get new bars out of the deal!

Sorry to hear about any bike going down, but to witness a lot jockey busting your baby's cherry? That's gotta cut deep.

OK
Now I am getting pissed for you.
He's a porter with an attitude after dropping a $ 40,000 bike.
If I owned that dealership I would send him packing with his dumb$ss attitude. But that's just me. Did you talk to the service manager about that "A$$hole giving you an attitude? on top of you already being rightfully pissed off. Man word get around quickly and it can kill your service department with having workers like that.

Check the bottom corners of the lowers, they touch the ground before the guards do, depending on where your highway pegs are positioned.
Yup - that's where it is - they r replacing both front & rear engine guards. - Can't wait to hear about the bars.

If he copped a tude w me I'd be locked up right now. No, he copped a tude with his boss. Then his boss apologized to me. Service Mgr is all over it. Service writer is good dude and hes on it. Only my tech will do the work. But damn --- I really wanted today to be a new beginning as I had been avoiding this dealer since they tried to kill me twice 12 years ago. Ah well. DOOF

I guess that's why the guy is a porter right.
Glad to hear that you have a good dealership and I'm sure they will do what they can to make it right for you. Let us know how it all works out once you get you sled back.

Kinda makes ya wonder how often this happens at dealerships out of sight of the bike owner, or general public. Then they wait to see if the bike owner notices a few scratches before they do anything. Years ago I worked with a guy who had just had his bike painted, and he took it to the dealership for something which I don't recall. It was an FXRT with the hardbags & fairing. A tech dropped the bike right in front of him destroying his brand new paint job. The dealer paid to have it all repainted by the same painter. The co-worker had a lot of down time that year.
