A while ago, there was a mention in a thread about a dealer that gives like $1500 for a stock 103" when purchasing a 120 motor.

I couldn't find it with the search function. Anyone know of any dealers that do this? Thanks!

Why leave at least $1000 on the table I sold mine in about a month for $2500. One dealer in MA builds them with no take-off. Might still have a 2015 that way on floor still. High Octane Harley Billerica, MA. They wouldnt go lower than 30400 with d&d boarzilla and heavy breather ac and tuner. They were discounting 2640 off of msrp of build plus $1000 labor.

You're probably right, but when it comes to engines, easy/convenient wins the day with me. I just want to drop off the bike and come back and pick it up......done! Engine theory, got it. Engine wrenching skills......just north of zero! Lol!

Talked to them today. The quote they gave me was nowhere near $30,400. They must have offered you a sweetheart deal! I may have jumped on $30,400!

Yep. Vivid black 2015 w 120st, se a/c, tuner, and Bosszilla. I'll try again tomorrow. Not sure of the salesman's name. $36,000 is what he quoted me.

I've seen quotes for over $10k to install a new motor. $9k sounds like a really good price for everything. Especially considering the price of the Boarzilla that doesn't leave a whole lot for labor.

I was thinking it was a bit steep as well. Building a motor is one thing, but swapping out an assembled motor shouldn't be as bad. IF they even did that. I'm not sure what level of assembly the bikes show up at the dealer in, I assume one of three alternatives, all of which should reduce the cost:

1) they are assembled in house, in which case, the 103 would never have been installed, which should lower the labor cost. Dealer has a brand new 103" HO motor they can sell-cheapest scenario for the customer I would think. (No additional labor, dealer recoups 103 price)

2) they order the bike from the factory with the 120 already in it. Again lowering the price of the labor involved. (No additional labor)

3) the bike comes with the 103 and it is swapped out for the 120 at the dealer. In this case the dealer has a brand new 103" HO motor which I'm sure they sell at a profit. (Labor on swap, dealer recoups 103" price).

If I'm paying for a bike with a 103, PLUS paying all parts and labor for the 120st, I would expect to have a brand new 103"HO motor sitting next to my brand new 120st powered bike!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I invite those in the know to chime in. Thanks.

I think its a little steep. I guess there's some benefits of getting a 120 from the dealer like financing & warranty etc. You could also get a Dragos S&S 124" touring engine installed for less with a year warranty plus you get to sell the 103" & I think you'll end up with a more reliable motor. Not knocking the 120st, I'm sure its a great upgrade it just seems like a lot of $$$

Mine was $31500 out the door. Then I added a Tourpak, Blacked out Frontend, Bandit Sportsmen and Factory 47 16" Malos. But had I stopped there $31500 out the door. It's easy math, buy a 2016 special vivid black msrp out the door $23500. Motor 5695.00, Boarzilla 1100, HD Elite Premium Heavy Breather 395 and Pro Tuner 460 Misc 350. = $8000 negotiate 15% off parts =$6800 plus 10 hours labor at $100 = $8000. = $31500.

I saved on labor by upgrade clutch now while apart and adding a 30t trike pulley = 400 labor
I saved on labor by doing bars now while forntend was apart only charged me = 250 labor

I haven't added up my total build and don't want too. Haha

And I sold my stock motor header and stock ac for $2500.

I got a 1 year warranty on the 120 and 2 on the bike and unlike other motos S&S and Dragos in the state of MA ts a VIN matched title. I believe Harley Motors have a better resale to the uniformed come trade in time as well. Dealers will rarely give you extra for a S&S Dragos etc...

That, in my opinion, is a pretty good deal. You paid $33k, but you can probably get at least $3k back on your brand new 103".

Did you call dealer back today and ask for Mike? I had a deal on that bike for $30400 with no take offs. I walked a way for better deal. Mine above.

Part of the problem around here is the market is getting flooded with take offs what was getting $3000-$3500 plus is now selling at $2500 - $2800. I threw in the header and AC to finalize deal. I saw one recently for $2250. with no miles. It's crazy because that 103 long block without heads and intake is $4195 from Harley.

The part of the deal that burnt me the most was you had to buy the SE Pro Tuner for $465 and it does even come with cables or software. Basically threw away money. I won't final tune with it over my Power Vision unless the dealer is tuning it which probably is not the case.
