Starting to hear from fellow Glide owners about a "decelaration wobble". Seems as when you back off the throttle, the front wheel "wobbles" Just started to notice this on my 13 ultra. Only have 4000 miles, and just returned fron doing the "dragon" in TN. Does anyone have any info about this issue.

I'll save you a lot of reading. Get your neck bearings adjusted (tighter). A little too loose and you will get the "death wobble". Had it, got it fixed, no biggie.

I just picked up my 13 FLTRU from the dealer after having the 1,000 mile service completed. When I dropped it off, I told them about the wobble. Of course the service writer acted like he had never heard of such a thing. But, when I picked it up the work order said they had adjusted the steering head bearing and checked fall away. I looked at the invoice and realized they were trying to charge me for correcting this and told the service writer there was no way I was paying for it when the bike is brand new and under warranty. He went into the service manager's office for a moment, came back and promptly removed that charge from the bill.

On the ride home I tested it several times and the wobble is gone. So, it is a minor problem that is easily corrected. But, I read through the above referenced thread and it seems that many dealers are charging to fix it. Stand your ground and tell the dealer you are not paying to correct a defect on a new bike under warranty. I would guess that many dealers put the charge on the bill because many owners will just pay it without question, but if you complain they will likely remove the charge.

I refused to take delivery of the bike until they corrected mine. They didn't waste any time; no delivery to me, meant no $$ to them!:D

+1 so true. My tech says the specs by the HD manual are not acceptable in his experience but he and I are good friends.

I wonder what the cause is, an improper adjustment or mistake in the manual, because not every bike seems to get this.

I've often wondered if the bearing races aren't always fully seated during intial assembly and after some real time road use the intial adjustment becomes too loose?? Just thinking too much I guess.

My 12 wobbled when i first got it,changed the front tire and it went away.

I don't recall ever having this issue in my 06 RK no matter what you did with it. Upgraded to a 10 RK and the problem reared its head, or wobbled as the case may be. Dealer adjusted it but she would still tank slap on decel. Finally saw the light after riding little brothers shark so I sprung for a 2012 RGU. The shake was worse, had it into the dealer twice at no charge, and then did it my self. When it got to just falling slightly past center it rode great and I ran that bike about 58,000 mles with no issues before selling her off. 12/22/2015 bought a FLTRXS in Superior Blue, on 12/24/2015 completely torn two tendons in right shoulder and dropped the bicep. Tomorrow is last day in sling city and PT starts on the 20th so I have no idea how this scooter will run. The turn over in the shop and no rapport with a specific mechanic isn't a good thing, so the learning curve continues. Enough whining from here looking forward to PT and maybe getting that bike on the road in May.
