I am considering making my tourpack detachable but not sure what to do about the rear speaker output Will it damage the head unit, Stock Radio Sound from an 04 , do I simply unplug the rear speakers and use the fader to turn rear off ? What are my options here .

That's what I would do. Not many other choices. Your not running any amps , are you ?

No amps , just an 04 head unit with fairing and tour pack speakers

Just take the tourpak off. It will have no ill effects at all on your head unit.
