Detachable Tourpack Compatibility 13/16

Hi
Well I just traded my 2013 RGU in on a 2016 RGU

I removed my 4 point docking hardware and reinstalled the tourpack with the original mount

I know the 4 point won't work on the new bike but does anyone know if the detachable mount from my old setup will work on the new bike?

Both models docking hardware (09'-13' & 14' -current) accept the same accessories.

As said, I'm running an 09-13 pak on my 2015, using the 09-13 detachable mount. It works just fine, but some have had to shim the pak up a bit to clear the bag lids. I didn't have to, mine clear by about 3/16"-1/4".

It looks like all the wiring is already set up with disconnects to make the removal easier too

Well now the wiring is a different story. You will have to change the plugs on the TP to match up to the rushmore plugs. The rushmore bikes have a canbus electrical system and the connectors are different.

It's only the mount I'm reusing from the old bike. The new one is an ultra also.

Ok. You will have to drill new holes in the mount to accept the new style TP but it will work that way.

Hmm the old bracket is narrower. The holes would have to be along the edge where it dips

Did you mean to drill the tourpack to run new bolts?
